How much does the 2023 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 6.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.83/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine, comfortable interior, smooth ride, stylish appearance, and fuel efficiency. That lines up well with the Tundra’s use case as a thoroughly updated full-size pickup that feels modern rather than merely refreshed.

The main trade-offs are its potentially polarising design and the fact that not all safety features are standard. Even so, the market shows 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which points to solid shopping opportunity.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable, with praise for its reliable character and trouble-free ownership experience. On the expert side, the Tundra’s powertrain is described as smooth and consistent, and the truck’s engineering improvements support confidence in day-to-day use.

Toyota also backs the truck with a three-year/60,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty and a five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any truck you consider has been maintained properly and checked for recall-related concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Tundra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra spans a wide range of trims, from work-focused versions to luxury and off-road models. Base trims are more basic, while Limited and above bring the large 14-inch touchscreen, and the TRD Pro adds clearance lamps, a skid plate, and a more aggressive appearance.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, while the i-FORCE MAX hybrid adds more power and torque. The hybrid is available on Limited, TRD Off-road, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition, and it comes standard on Capstone.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, lane-tracing assist, and a sway warning system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while Limited and higher use a 14-inch multimedia screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all Tundras, and the wireless phone charger is standard on Limited and above.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V6 is more efficient than the old V8, and the hybrid is the strongest choice if you want maximum efficiency alongside extra output.

Which 2023 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Tundra is offered in 10 trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-road, Limited, Limited TRD Off-road, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Tundra experience at the lowest price. It suits you if you want the truck’s capability and updated engineering without paying for extra luxury or tech.
• SR5: This is the sensible step up if you want a little more equipment without jumping too far in price. It should appeal if you want a better-balanced daily driver than the base trim.
• TRD Sport: Choose this if you want a more style-forward truck with a sportier look. It is a good fit if appearance matters and you still want a mainstream Tundra setup.
• TRD Off-road: This is the better pick if you want added trail capability without going all the way to TRD Pro. It also opens the door to the hybrid powertrain.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 14-inch touchscreen and wireless phone charging, while also unlocking the hybrid powertrain. It is the sweet spot if you want a more premium-feeling truck without luxury-trim pricing.
• Limited TRD Off-road: Pick this if you want the Limited’s comfort and tech with extra off-road capability. It makes sense if you want a more versatile truck for mixed use.
• Platinum: This trim leans into luxury and also offers the hybrid powertrain. It suits you if you want a more upscale cabin and stronger equipment content.
• 1794 Edition: This is another upscale choice with the hybrid available. It is aimed at buyers who want a more distinctive premium feel.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road specialist, with a lift, Fox shocks, 18-inch BBS wheels, 33-inch tires, locking rear differential, crawl control, multi-terrain system, downhill assist control, and a multi-terrain monitor. It is the right choice if trail performance is your priority.
• Capstone: This is the luxury flagship, with the hybrid powertrain standard. Choose it if you want the most premium Tundra experience.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 309 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $50,903 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $52,006 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,754 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. The current range still shows healthy demand, though, especially for well-equipped trucks with the right trim and condition.

Strong owner satisfaction can help support resale value, because buyers tend to trust models that already have a positive reputation. If the Tundra keeps delivering the comfort, power, and efficiency owners like, that should help it hold appeal over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2023 Toyota Tundra earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS for CrewMax models.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard, with automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and lane departure warning, lane-tracing assist, and a sway warning system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but they are not standard across the lineup.

The main caveat is that not all safety features are standard, so you should check the exact trim and equipment list carefully before buying.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota kept the redesigned Tundra largely unchanged for 2023.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $47,101 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $52,006 CAD average.
• It launched the redesigned Tundra with a fresh platform and broad configuration choices.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $55,543 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $52,006 CAD average.
• It adds a stronger personality with the i-Force Max drivetrain and TRD Pro ride tuning.

The bottom line: If you want the updated Tundra without paying more for the next model year, the 2023 is the smart middle ground. If price is your top priority, the 2022 can save you money; if you want a slightly newer truck and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the alternative to compare.
