Generally — the 2023 RAM 3500 earns a 4/5 user rating, which fits a heavy-duty truck that blends serious capability with the kind of comfort and technology you now expect from a daily driver. The overview points to class-leading towing and payload capability, plus a cabin and feature set that lean more upscale than traditional work-focused trucks. That makes it a strong fit if you want genuine hauling ability without giving up modern convenience. The overview suggests a truck built around serious capability, with a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for Hemi models. It also notes some trade-offs, including a noisy diesel engine and limited safety technology. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about living with the truck’s size and complexity than questioning its core purpose.

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2023 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $68,635 CAD sits slightly below last year's $74,808 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The truck’s strong capability and upscale appeal should still help it hold interest among buyers who need heavy-duty towing and hauling.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, a more upscale cabin, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 remains the better all-around choice when you want the strongest mix of features, capability, and current value.
