Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is a strong fit if you want a compact SUV with family-friendly flexibility, standard third-row seating, and a more modern cabin layout. Its user rating is 3.7/5, and the overview points to a vehicle that prioritises practicality, comfort, and available plug-in hybrid appeal over outright performance.

You also get a distinctive design and a setup that suits buyers who value versatility more than speed. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is presented as a comfort-focused, practical SUV with standard all-wheel drive and S-AWC, which should help it feel composed in Canadian conditions. The overview also highlights a quiet cabin and a ride tuned more for comfort than sportiness.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the third row is very small and the gas model is not especially quick, so you should make sure the vehicle’s packaging and performance match your needs before committing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 478 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,407 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $29,407 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,567 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Outlander has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition when they go to market. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. For resale, condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot because the model’s value is already trending lower.

Should I buy a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.39% compared with last year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,472 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $29,407 CAD average.
• It feels like a more modern redesign with broader showroom appeal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better pick if you want the newer-market pricing context and the same family-focused seven-seat layout. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still brings the redesigned Outlander’s modern feel.
