How much does the 2023 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 14.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, safety features, fuel economy, comfortable ride, and modern technology. That makes it a strong fit if you want a compact SUV that feels practical and easy to live with. The trade-offs are the CVT’s sometimes loud, underpowered character and the value question that comes up once you start adding equipment. In other words, it suits you best if comfort, safety, and efficiency matter more than outright driving polish or bargain pricing.

Only 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centred on its spacious interior, safety features, fuel economy, and comfortable ride. The expert evaluation also describes the Rogue as secure and consistent in how it behaves, which supports confidence in regular ownership. Nissan’s three-year/60,000-kilometre basic warranty and five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty are part of the ownership picture as well. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the CVT and value concerns may affect satisfaction if you expect stronger performance or lower running frustration.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Rogue?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels. The base S is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add more upscale materials and equipment; the Platinum stands out for its soft, supple leather seats and broader luxury feel. The SV also gets the Midnight Edition package, which blacks out exterior trim.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine with a CVT. It is responsive in urban and suburban driving, but it can feel short on passing power on the highway and may sound coarse to some drivers.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Higher trims can add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, plus features such as a surround-view camera, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and a driver monitoring system.
• Infotainment: The Rogue uses an older infotainment system with an 8-inch or available 9-inch touchscreen. The larger screen can include wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, NissanConnect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, a Bose premium audio system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should have returned 7.7 L/100 km in combined driving, and the evaluation loop averaged 8.1 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Rogue’s core design, safety, and efficiency without paying for extras. It is the trim where the AWD setup is not standard in Canada, so it is the one to watch closely if you want the lowest purchase price.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the range and can be paired with the Midnight Edition package. If you want a more distinctive look without jumping to the highest trims, this is the one to target.
• SL: This trim is the step up if you want more comfort and convenience without going all the way to the top. It should appeal if you want a more premium-feeling Rogue but do not need every luxury feature.
• Platinum: This is the trim for you if you want the most upscale Rogue experience, including the softest cabin materials and the most feature-rich presentation. It is the best fit if you care most about a near-luxury feel.

Higher trims can also add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, while the standard Safety Shield 360 suite remains a major part of the Rogue’s appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,692 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,312 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $26,312 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,733 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment if prices stay under pressure. The current market suggests the Rogue is still moving, but not at the same level it was a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2023 Nissan Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2022 calendar year. According to crash tests performed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it earns a five-star overall rating, with four-star ratings for the driver and front passenger in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Higher trims can add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assistance. One caveat to keep in mind is that updated IIHS testing produced Marginal and Acceptable scores in the small overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests, respectively.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new Midnight Edition package on the SV trim and keeps the Rogue visually fresh.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,480 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,312 CAD average.
• It offers a broad spread of configurations and a new turbocharged engine.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,236 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $26,312 CAD average.
• It brings Google built-in apps and a more modern tech focus.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better pick if you want the Rogue’s updated look and strong safety reputation at a softened market price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 is the better path if you want the newest tech.
