Used 2023 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have softened 9.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 323 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, quality interior, and good performance, especially with the turbo engine. They also like the spacious cargo area and the sleek infotainment system.

The trade-offs are a stiff ride, hard seats, and a less effective non-turbo engine. It fits you best if you want a crossover with a more engaging personality and a more adventurous character than many rivals, but you should weigh that against its limited storage space and challenging value proposition.

Only 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free, with confidence in its long-term ownership appeal. The expert review also points to reliable towing capability and a powertrain that inspires confidence when properly equipped.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a few ownership annoyances could matter more over time than the strong satisfaction score suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim misses some of the more useful convenience and safety upgrades, while higher trims add features such as a surround-view camera, parking sensors, and reverse automatic braking.
• Powertrain: You get a 187 hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, while turbo versions add stronger acceleration and higher towing capacity.
• Safety package: Mazda’s driver-assistance suite includes active blind-spot monitoring, and higher trims add Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors with reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera.
• Infotainment: Every CX-50 has a 10.25-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Mazda Connected Services, with touchscreen control for phone projection.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 9.7 L/100 km in city driving, 7.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 8.9 L/100 km combined. The turbo engine is rated at 10.4 L/100 km city, 8.1 L/100 km highway, and 9.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 4 trim levels: GS-L, GT, GT Turbo, Meridian Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GS-L: This is the entry point if you want the CX-50’s styling, standard safety tech, and core infotainment without paying for extra equipment.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it keeps the more affordable base engine while adding the equipment balance most buyers are likely to want.
• GT Turbo: Choose this if you want stronger acceleration and the higher towing capacity that comes with the turbocharged engine.
• Meridian Edition: This is the most outdoors-focused version, with all-terrain tires, splash guards, and a roof-mounted load platform for more adventurous use.

Mazda’s safety package is broadly standard, but the most useful upgrades are reserved for trims above base.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting a fire sale.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 323 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,264 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $32,272 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,694 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-50 has already absorbed some of its early depreciation. For a future seller, that can be a mixed signal: it may help you buy at a more reasonable entry point now, but it also means there is less room for prices to fall before they stabilise.

Because the model still has strong owner satisfaction, demand should remain reasonably healthy if your vehicle is well maintained and well equipped. Trim choice and condition will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The Mazda CX-50 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda includes a generous standard driver-assistance package, with active blind-spot monitoring as standard. Higher trims add Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors with reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.

The main caveat is that some of the most useful features are not on every trim, so you should check equipment carefully if you are shopping lower in the range.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines stylish design, fun driving manners, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,079 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $32,272 CAD average.
• It adds a more rugged, outdoorsy identity with standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because prices are softer and owner satisfaction is strong. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year with a tougher image, the 2024 is the alternative to consider.
