Used 2023 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearKingston, ON

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have softened 9.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 326 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, quality interior, and good performance, especially with the turbo engine. They also like the spacious cargo area and the upscale feel, which fits the CX-50’s more adventurous, lifestyle-focused brief. The trade-offs are a stiffer ride, hard seats, and an infotainment system that can be frustrating to use.

That mix makes sense if you want a compact crossover that feels more distinctive and engaging than a typical commuter SUV. The market also shows 32.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with owners describing the CX-50 as a vehicle they enjoy living with over time. The expert drive notes also support that impression, especially in how the turbo powertrain delivers smooth acceleration and reliable towing capability.

Mazda’s maintenance positioning is also a plus if you value lower early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you can live with the ride, cabin comfort, and interface quirks over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trims get the standard styling and safety package, while higher trims add more premium touches such as available 20-inch alloy wheels, a terracotta upholstery colour, and the Meridian Edition’s exclusive wheels, all-terrain tires, splash guards, and roof-mounted load platform. If you want the most complete equipment mix, the upper trims are the ones to compare closely.
• Powertrain: You’ll find a 187-horsepower 2.5-litre four-cylinder in the entry trims and a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder in the GT Turbo and Meridian Edition. The turbo version brings stronger acceleration and more towing capacity, while the standard engine is the more fuel-efficient choice.
• Safety package: Mazda’s driver-assistance suite is standard across the lineup, with blind-spot monitoring included. Base trims miss some of the more advanced features, while higher trims add Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors with reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Every CX-50 gets a 10.25-inch Mazda Connect display with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Mazda Connected Services. Touchscreen control is available for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the native interface still relies heavily on console controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is rated at 9.7 L/100 km city, 7.9 highway, and 8.9 combined. The turbo engine is rated at 10.4 L/100 km city, 8.1 highway, and 9.4 combined.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 4 trim levels: GS-L, GT, GT Turbo, Meridian Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GS-L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-50 experience with the standard engine and the full safety and infotainment baseline. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you should be comfortable giving up the extra punch and added equipment of the higher trims.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it keeps the more efficient standard powertrain while adding the broader equipment mix that makes the CX-50 feel more complete. If you want the model’s style and everyday usability without paying turbo money, this is the trim to focus on.
• GT Turbo: Choose this if you want the stronger 2.5-litre turbo engine, more towing capacity, and the more engaging performance character that owners and testers respond to. It suits you best if driving enjoyment matters more than fuel consumption.
• Meridian Edition: This is the most distinctive trim, with all-terrain tires, exclusive wheels, splash guards, and a roof-mounted load platform. It is the one to consider if you want the CX-50’s more adventurous look and the most outdoors-oriented setup.

The safety package is generous overall, but the most advanced driver-assistance features are not on every trim, so compare equipment carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 326 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,575 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $32,575 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,935 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-50 has moved into a more buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you are shopping used now. For a future seller, it means resale values may be more sensitive to condition, trim, and equipment than to model-year freshness alone.

The good news is that the CX-50 still has strong appeal thanks to its styling, safety, and driving character. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The Mazda CX-50 is a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda includes a generous standard driver-assistance package, with blind-spot monitoring standard across the lineup. Higher trims add Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors with reverse automatic braking, and a surround-view camera system. The surround-view camera and parking sensors are especially useful.

One caveat is that the CX-50 falls short of Top Safety Pick+ because of some headlight configurations, plus weaker results in night-time pedestrian collision avoidance and the updated side crash test. The adaptive cruise control also showed a notable shortcoming in heavier traffic during testing.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines stylish design, standard advanced safety features, and a more adventurous compact-crossover brief.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,438 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $32,575 CAD average.
• It adds a more rugged, outdoorsy identity with standard all-wheel drive.

The 2023 is the better pick if you want the stronger value proposition and the same core CX-50 appeal at a lower price. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year and a tougher-looking setup, the 2024 is worth a look.
