For now, the CX-50 complements rather than replaces the existing CX-5 model, and it targets active lifestyle adventure seekers instead of the sophisticated urbanites typically drawn to the CX-5. The 2023 Mazda CX-50 shares powertrains and underlying technology with the CX-5, but it's otherwise different, offering slightly more rear-seat room and practical cargo space in a longer, lower, and wider design. Given Mazda’s future SUV product plans calling for new CX-70 and CX-90 models, we expect the CX-50 will ultimately replace the CX-5.

We were replacing a CX-50 we lost to a tree fall in a storm . We had only had the vehicle for about seven months and we knew we wanted the exact same car. We like the wide stance and roominess in a vehicle you can still park in a standard space with room to get in and out. It carries four tall people without being cramped. It’s practical and rugged and features a lot of the kind of comfort and luxury associated with higher priced cars. The technology is easy to use and enhances rather than distracting from the driver experience.
Have only had a short time. Has an upscale cabin when compared with competitors.The turbo engine is much better than the base engine.
If you’re looking for great gas mileage with good cargo space and legroom, this is the vehicle for you. Gorgeous interior finishes with numerous options for enhancements and sharp exterior. We are having to order because of the super low inventory everywhere. We found the extra cost for the turbo engine to be worth it.
Ideal drivers commuter car that can handle family duty. Roomy back seat and cargo area, fun to drive, gas mileage is fine. Steering is stiffer than average but contributes to stability and less need for safety system intervention. Meridian edition is mostly trim and tires, but it looks cool and different.
