Used 2023 Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearWoodbridge, ON

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 8.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 743 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-5 earns a 4.86/5 user rating, and our experts give it 7.17/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and features, along with the high-quality interior finish and the useful heads-up display. The stylish cabin and enjoyable ride quality also come up often, which fits a vehicle that feels polished and well-rounded for compact crossover shoppers.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment interface is frustrating. That makes it a better fit if you value driving enjoyment, cabin quality, and safety over maximum practicality or the latest tech polish.

With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still a meaningful share of attractive inventory to consider.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on comfort, features, and the kind of quality that helps a vehicle feel like one you can count on over time. The expert assessment also reinforces that sense of durability through its refined, solid-feeling driving character and premium-grade execution.

Mazda also positions the CX-5 as a value play for buyers who want upscale feel without stepping into a luxury badge, which can help reduce the risk of disappointment over the long haul. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the cramped rear seat, limited cargo room, and frustrating infotainment will suit your daily routine.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans from the GX to the GT, with the 2.5 Turbo Sport Design and 2.5 Turbo Signature sitting at the top end. The base version gives you the core polished look and feel, but the higher trims add more luxury-style equipment and the most exclusive safety and convenience features.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a standard 187-hp four-cylinder and an available 256-hp turbocharged four-cylinder. The standard engine is paired with a six-speed automatic and AWD, while the turbo adds much stronger acceleration and still uses the same transmission and AWD setup.
• Safety package: Mazda’s i-Activsense suite is standard, and the most expensive versions add a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, and Traffic Jam Assist. Lower trims miss some of those exclusive features.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mazda Connected Services. The system does not include a helpful voice recognition system, and its centre-console controls take some getting used to.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 9.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 6 trim levels: GX, GT, 2.5 Turbo Sport Design, 2.5 Turbo Signature, and the standard 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 CX-5 lineup variants explicitly referenced in the model-year content.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point if you want the CX-5’s core strengths at the lowest price, including the standard AWD setup and the 187-hp engine. It makes sense if you care most about the driving feel and safety basics, but you should expect fewer luxury-style extras than the upper trims.
• GT: This is the better-value choice for many shoppers because it sits in the heart of the lineup and balances equipment with price. If you want a more complete CX-5 without stretching to the top trims, this is the one to focus on.
• 2.5 Turbo Sport Design: Choose this if you want the stronger turbocharged engine and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the most expensive version. It suits you if performance matters and you want the CX-5 to feel especially polished.
• 2.5 Turbo Signature: This is the most fully equipped version, with the exclusive safety and convenience features mentioned above. Buy this if you want the most premium CX-5 experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is broadly standard across the lineup, but the top trims get the extra driver-assistance and camera features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-5?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 743 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,155 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $30,155 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,778 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-5 has become more accessible for used buyers, which can also make it easier for future sellers to attract interest if the vehicle is well kept. A softer market today may mean less upside than in a rising-price environment, but it can also support steady turnover if your CX-5 is clean, well maintained, and sensibly priced.

Because the model continues to draw buyers who want style, comfort, and a premium feel, demand should remain reasonably healthy. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The Mazda CX-5 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment, along with the usual four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activsense suite is standard, and it includes a broad set of driver-assistance features that work smoothly and accurately. The available safety tech includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and E911 automatic collision notification. Higher trims add the surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, Traffic Jam Assist, and an Active Driving Display.

One caveat is that some of the most useful convenience and safety features are reserved for the top trims, so you’ll want to check carefully if you’re shopping lower in the lineup. The CX-5 also has a lighting-related shortcoming at night, so it’s worth confirming that the headlights are used properly on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries strong safety ratings and a polished, premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,830 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,155 CAD average.
• It feels more upscale after Mazda’s premium-focused updates.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,536 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $30,155 CAD average.
• It adds further refinement while keeping the same polished, enjoyable character.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and overall appeal, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newer model-year premium, the 2024 is the step up.
