Used 2023 Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 8.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 695 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-5 earns a 4.86/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and features, along with the high-quality interior finish and useful heads-up display. The stylish design and enjoyable driving character also come through strongly in owner feedback.

The trade-offs are familiar: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment interface is frustrating. For you, that means the CX-5 makes the most sense if you value polish, driving enjoyment, and a premium feel more than maximum space or the latest tech convenience.

Good and great deals account for 26.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find comfortable, dependable, and easy to live with over time. The review summary also highlights strong performance and features, which usually supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

The CX-5’s powertrain is described as competitive and rewarding, and the overall driving experience is presented as solid and refined. Mazda also includes a free three-year trial subscription to Mazda Connected Services, which adds some ownership value early on.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the cramped cabin and frustrating infotainment will still suit your needs after the novelty wears off.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GX gives you the core CX-5 experience, but the higher trims add more of the premium feel, and the 2.5 Turbo Signature stands out with the most exclusive equipment. If you want the best value, the mid-to-upper trims are the ones to compare carefully against the base model’s feature gaps.
• Powertrain: You can choose between the standard 187-hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder and the available 256-hp turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder. The standard engine is efficient enough for everyday use, while the turbo is the one to seek if you want stronger acceleration and a more effortless feel.
• Safety package: Mazda bundles most i-Activsense driver-assistance tech as standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. The 2.5 Turbo Signature adds the surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: The CX-5 uses a 10.25-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Mazda Connected Services. The system does not offer a helpful voice recognition system, and its controls can be awkward to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 9.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 6 trim levels: GX, GS, Kuro, GT, 2.5 Turbo Sport Design, 2.5 Turbo Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-5 formula with the standard engine and AWD. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you should expect fewer of the upscale touches that define the CX-5’s appeal.
• GS: This is the trim to focus on if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should suit you if you want the CX-5’s polished feel without stretching to the turbo models.
• Kuro: This trim adds a more distinctive appearance and a more upscale presentation. It is a good fit if style matters to you and you want something that feels a bit more special than the lower trims.
• GT: This is the more comfort- and feature-oriented choice before the turbo models. It suits you if you want a richer ownership experience and are willing to pay for it.
• 2.5 Turbo Sport Design: This is the first turbocharged trim, so it is the one to choose if stronger performance is your priority. It is the best-value pick for buyers who care most about the turbo engine rather than top-end luxury extras.
• 2.5 Turbo Signature: This is the most luxurious and most expensive version, with the most exclusive safety and convenience features. Choose it if you want the most complete CX-5 experience and are comfortable paying for it.

The 2.5 Turbo Signature is the trim with the most exclusive safety equipment, including the surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 695 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.51% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,201 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $30,201 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,011 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against a seller trying to maximise return. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the CX-5’s value to depend heavily on condition, trim, and equipment.

The good news is that the model still has broad appeal because it combines style, safety, and a premium feel in a compact SUV package. That helps support demand even as prices ease.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment, coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activsense suite is bundled across the lineup, with most of the technology included as standard equipment. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic collision notification through E911.

The main safety caveat is that some of the most useful extras are reserved for the 2.5 Turbo Signature, including the surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over Mazda’s refined design, strong safety, and familiar packaging with only minor changes.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,958 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,201 CAD average.
• It brings premium-focused updates that make the CX-5 feel more upscale.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,685 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $30,201 CAD average.
• It further refines the CX-5’s premium feel while keeping the same core strengths.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right choice if you want the current CX-5 experience at a softer price than the newer model year. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is worth a look; if you want the latest refinement and can spend more, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path.
