What is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $23,417 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,545 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sonata has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your eventual resale position. Demand should remain supported by the model’s value proposition and broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,307 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,417 CAD average.
• It offers tremendous value and exceptional quality.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and buyer appeal. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the better value-focused alternative.
