This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Inventory: There are 1,079 listings available.

The current average of $26,134 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,166 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well the car is equipped and maintained. If you buy at a sensible price today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later. Strong demand for this model should still help support values, especially for clean, well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,902 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,134 CAD average.
• It was redesigned with fresh engineering and technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,737 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $26,134 CAD average.
• It adds a performance-focused Si setup with a manual transmission.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction, market softness, and everyday usability. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play, while the 2024 makes sense only if you want the more enthusiast-oriented direction.
