Used 2023 Honda CR-V for Sale nearWhitby, ON

How much does the 2023 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 10.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 923 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Honda CR-V earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, quality interior, and strong safety and economy. The roomy cabin and plenty of cargo space also come through as recurring strengths, which fits a compact crossover that is meant to be easy to live with every day.

The main trade-offs are the irritating transmission, uninspired styling, and limited technological innovation compared with some rivals. Even so, the CR-V’s comfort-first character and practical layout make it a strong fit if you want an easygoing family SUV rather than something flashy. With 27.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the CR-V’s smooth ride, safety, and economy as reasons they feel confident living with it over time. That kind of praise usually matters more than flashier features when you’re shopping used.

The expert review also describes the CR-V as exceptionally refined and well executed, which supports the impression that it should be easy to count on day to day. Honda’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a small ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you can live with the CVT’s behaviour and the model’s conservative tech package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CR-V EX-L adds leather-wrapped seats, steering wheel, and shift knob, plus a larger touchscreen, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power rear liftgate, and front and rear parking sensors. Lower grades use cloth upholstery and a smaller touchscreen, while some B sub-trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: Gas-only models use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT and front- or all-wheel drive. The engine is strong enough for the class, but the CVT can drone under hard acceleration.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a seatbelt reminder system, rear-seat reminder system, driver monitoring system, traffic sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist. Some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Most trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX-L upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless charging, and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should see 8.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and the review’s evaluation route returned 8.1 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda CR-V is offered in 4 trim levels: LX-B, Sport, EX-L, Touring Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• LX-B: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra convenience and tech found higher up the range. It is also the trim where Honda notes some feature deletions on certain B sub-trims, so you should check equipment carefully.
• Sport: This is the step-up choice if you want a better-equipped gas model without jumping all the way to the EX-L. It sits above the base trim and is the better-value middle ground for many shoppers.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim if you want the most complete gas-powered CR-V experience. You get the larger touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, leather trim, a power liftgate, and parking sensors, which makes it the most appealing all-rounder.
• Touring Hybrid: Choose this if you specifically want the hybrid powertrain and the top equipment level. It is the only hybrid trim offered in Canada, but it sits at the top of the range.

Honda’s safety package is standard across the lineup, but some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 923 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,504 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $32,535 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,316 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward from a stronger point a year ago, which can help future buyers but may temper what you can ask as a seller. If you own one now, the softer pricing trend means you should expect more competition from similarly priced listings when it comes time to sell.

The good news is that the CR-V’s broad appeal should help support demand. Buyers tend to respond well to models with strong practicality, comfort, and a positive ownership reputation, and this one checks those boxes.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2023 Honda CR-V earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a seatbelt reminder system, rear-seat reminder system, driver monitoring system, traffic sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist.

One caveat is that some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The review also notes that lane-centring assist can feel uncertain in some highway situations and adds some artificiality to the steering feel.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings a redesign, new infotainment systems, new safety features, and the first Canadian availability of the hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned CR-V with the newer cabin, updated tech, and broader powertrain choice, the 2023 is the right target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may offer a lower entry price, but the 2023 is the better pick if you want the updated package and can find a well-priced example.
