How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 11.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 450 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — 4.27/5 from owners, which is a strong sign that you’ll like living with it. The expert rating is 8.00/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, and features, and they also like the rugged design and driving experience. The main trade-offs are pricing that some shoppers find high and concerns about fuel efficiency and cargo practicality. If you want a vehicle that can handle highway driving and serious off-road use, this year’s Bronco fits that brief well. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.27/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle you can count on for off-road use, with repeated praise for its dependable character, comfort, and rugged design. The expert road test also highlights that it feels composed on pavement and remains quieter than a comparable Wrangler, which supports the sense that it’s built for regular use as well as trail duty. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps lower early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Bronco’s capability-focused design can bring higher running costs and more wear-sensitive ownership than a typical SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim has a decidedly primitive, bare-bones look with steel wheels and little adornment, while higher trims add more personality and capability. The Black Diamond trim is described as a good middle ground, and the Heritage Edition brings a throwback grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery. The Raptor sits at the top with a wide stance, elevated height, and huge fender flares.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.3-litre four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, an optional 2.7-litre V6 with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft, or a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 in the Raptor with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft. The base engine is considered adequate, while the V6 can suit the heavier four-door model better.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High and Luxe packages add more advanced features.
• Infotainment: Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, while a 12-inch display is available and recommended for easier use. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4 and FordPass Connect.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates the four-cylinder at as little as 11.6 L/100 km and as high as 14.3 L/100 km, while the 2.7-litre V6 is rated between 12.0 and 14.1 L/100 km. The Raptor is estimated at 15.3 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Bronco Outer Banks, Bronco Badlands, Heritage Edition, Bronco Wildtrak, Heritage Limited Edition, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most affordable way into the Bronco, but it’s also the most stripped-back. It suits you if you want the Bronco experience first and foremost and plan to build from there.
• Big Bend: This is a sensible step up if you want a little more everyday usability without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim if you want a strong middle ground between comfort and off-road ability, and it’s the one the experts would steer you toward.
• Bronco Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward style and comfort, making it a better fit if you want a more polished Bronco.
• Bronco Badlands: This is the choice if you want a more capability-focused setup and plan to spend more time off pavement.
• Heritage Edition: This is for you if the retro look is a major part of the appeal, with unique styling details and a nostalgic cabin theme.
• Bronco Wildtrak: This trim suits shoppers who want a more adventurous, higher-spec Bronco without going all the way to the top.
• Heritage Limited Edition: This is the more exclusive heritage-themed option, combining the retro treatment with added capability.
• Raptor: This is the extreme choice, with the most power and the most aggressive stance, but it’s overkill for most shoppers.

The Mid package is not available on the Base trim, so if you want more driver-assistance features, you’ll need to move up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 450 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,291 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $49,617 CAD sits slightly below last year's $56,057 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled from its earlier peak, which can make the Bronco more attractive to buyers today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on trim, condition, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone. Well-equipped versions with the right off-road hardware should remain easier to move than stripped examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.27/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings for frontal crash protection and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, while the IIHS gave the four-door model its best score of Good in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it scored Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, but it is not available on the Base trim. The High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. The Bronco’s safety feature set is solid for an off-road SUV, but it trails more conventional family SUVs in standard equipment and test performance.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.27/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds heritage-inspired variants while keeping the Bronco’s core off-road character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,429 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $49,617 CAD average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with strong everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,224 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $49,617 CAD average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system and a more rugged Badlands front bumper.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, selection, and satisfaction, the 2023 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value path; if you want the newest tech updates, the 2024 is worth the extra spend.
