It is built for buyers who need more than a light-duty pickup can offer, yet it still brings enough comfort and convenience to work as an everyday vehicle. That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale values may face some pressure if the market stays loose. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later. Strong demand for well-equipped heavy-duty trucks can still support values, especially when the truck has broad appeal and useful capability.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $68,570 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $60,677 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the better value and are focused on capability, equipment, and a lower entry price. Consider the 2024 if you want the updated styling and are willing to pay more for the newer refresh. If you are price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter starting point.
