How much does the 2022 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 5.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 129 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

The 2022 Sienna’s appeal is straightforward: it is a hybrid minivan with a standard hybrid powertrain, and it carries forward the fresh packaging and updated character of the redesign that arrived for 2021. That makes it a practical family vehicle if you want efficiency-focused transportation with modern packaging rather than a major rethink for this model year.

27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Toyota Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its carryover nature and its standard hybrid setup, which returns unchanged from the prior model year. The expert assessment also points to a well-executed redesign and a powertrain that was a welcome addition when it debuted.

Toyota’s hybrid system is paired with a 10-year/240,000-kilometre battery warranty, which adds reassurance for used buyers. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about novelty and more about buying a vehicle that has already seen family-duty wear, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LE is the most stripped-down version, while upper trims add more comfort and convenience features, including larger wheels and more upscale cabin equipment. If you want the best value, the XLE is the trim to focus on because it adds meaningful equipment without jumping to the highest price tier.
• Powertrain: The Sienna uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid system with two electric motors and an electronically controlled CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available on most trims and standard on Limited.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring is also standard.
• Infotainment: A 9-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, one USB media port, and six USB charging ports. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 6.6 L/100 km city, 6.5 highway, and 6.6 combined, while AWD models are rated at 6.8 city, 6.6 highway, and 6.7 combined.

Which 2022 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core hybrid Sienna experience at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model and can live without the extra convenience and luxury features found higher up.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more complete family-hauling experience without pushing into premium pricing. It is the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of equipment and value.
• XSE: This trim adds a sportier presentation and more available tech, including features such as Qi wireless phone charging and the available Technology Package. It suits you if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay more for it.
• Limited: This is the most luxurious version, with standard AWD and the most premium equipment in the range. It makes sense if you want the most fully equipped Sienna and are comfortable paying for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and blind spot monitoring are standard across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $45,513 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $47,792 CAD sits slightly below last year's $50,718 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can ask in the short term. Even so, the Sienna’s hybrid identity and family-focused practicality should continue to support demand. If fuel efficiency and utility remain priorities for shoppers, that helps keep the model relevant on the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2022 Sienna was a five-star vehicle according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and it was expected to carry over the Top Safety Pick+ result from the prior model year.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist lane centring, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Blind spot monitoring is also standard, along with Toyota’s Star Safety System, 10 airbags, multiple LATCH child-seat connectors, a rear-seat reminder system, and tire-pressure monitoring.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 keeps the standard hybrid powertrain and the successful redesign carryover.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,262 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $47,792 CAD average.
• Major redesign introduced standard hybrid power and fresh packaging.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $50,250 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $47,792 CAD average.
• Spacious, safety-focused family minivan with standard hybrid efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and proven redesign carryover, the 2022 is the sensible pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the value route; if you want to pay more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2023 is the next step up.
