How much does the 2022 Toyota Camry cost?

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Camry earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and stylish design. They also commonly highlight the comfortable interior and strong value for money. In practical terms, that lines up well with a roomy, reliable, efficient, safe, and affordable sedan that suits everyday commuting and family use.

With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market value to be found.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry reliable?

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and it also describes the Camry as dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use. The expert assessment reinforces that with language describing it as a reliable, efficient, safe, and affordable family car.

Toyota also builds in a helpful ownership perk: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may have been chosen for value over equipment, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LE starts the lineup, while higher trims add more equipment and a more upscale feel. Standard heated side mirrors are included across the range, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE but optional on LE and SE.
• Powertrain: You can choose a four-cylinder engine, a V6 engine, or a fuel-efficient gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The TRD uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Safety Connect is also standard, with automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance button, roadside assistance access, and a stolen vehicle locator.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and shortcut buttons. XSE and TRD models get a 9-inch touchscreen, and TRD buyers also get a 9-speaker JBL premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD is rated at 9.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test result came in at 9.5 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Camry is offered in 13 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE, TRD, SE Hybrid, XLE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid, LE AWD, SE AWD, XLE AWD, XSE V6, and XLE V6.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point if you want the Camry’s core strengths at the lowest starting price. It gives you the basic comfort, safety, and efficiency formula without paying for extra appearance or convenience upgrades.
• SE: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds a sportier look and sits at the heart of the lineup without pushing into the pricier V6 territory. It is also the trim Toyota uses as the basis for the TRD, which helps keep costs in check.
• XLE: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It suits you best if comfort and a more premium presentation matter more than keeping the purchase price down.
• XSE: This is the better pick if you want a richer feature set and the 9-inch touchscreen. It also gets blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert as standard.
• TRD: Pick this only if you want the most performance-focused Camry. It adds the V6, track-tuned suspension hardware, bigger brakes, and more aggressive styling, but it is not the most practical choice for everyone.
• SE Hybrid: This is the efficiency-focused choice if you want the hybrid powertrain with a sportier look.
• XLE Hybrid: Choose this if you want hybrid efficiency with a more upscale feel.
• XSE Hybrid: This is the hybrid trim for shoppers who want both efficiency and a more aggressive appearance.
• LE AWD: This is the value-oriented all-wheel-drive choice for buyers who want extra traction without moving up the trim ladder.
• SE AWD: This is the better AWD pick if you want a sportier look along with all-weather capability.
• XLE AWD: Choose this if you want AWD and a more premium presentation.
• XSE V6: This is the more performance-oriented upscale V6 choice if you want stronger acceleration and a richer feature set.
• XLE V6: Choose this if you want the V6 with a more comfort-focused, upscale character.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 108 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,110 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $26,273 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,546 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition if prices stay under pressure. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more reasonable point in the cycle than someone who bought a year ago. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support values, especially for trims with broader appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2022 Camry earns a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star ratings in every single evaluation the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Safety Connect is also standard, with automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance button, roadside assistance access, and a stolen vehicle locator. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise systems can sometimes feel overly assertive or a bit fussy in real-world use.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a stylish design with strong safety and value.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $24,255 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $26,273 CAD average.
• It remains a strong all-rounder with reliability, practicality, and a broad lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the better current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory, the 2022 is the stronger default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Camry’s core strengths.
