Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds fresh design details, upgraded EyeSight technology, and the Wilderness trim for buyers who want more rugged capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,044 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $28,175 CAD average.
• It adds next-generation EyeSight safety features and an improved standard infotainment system.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want stronger value and more negotiating room. If you can stretch for the 2023, you get newer tech, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2022’s softer market and broader deal availability.
