There are 181 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable seating, spacious interior, smooth performance, and strong value for the price, especially with the included tech features. That lines up well with the Pathfinder’s role as a practical midsize SUV that aims to cover family duty, commuting, and road trips without feeling plain. The market also shows 32.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for the comfortable seating, spacious interior, smooth performance, and strong value. The expert assessment also describes the Pathfinder as a capable, confidence-inspiring family hauler with thoughtful features that support everyday use. Nissan’s updated transmission and stable ride help reinforce that sense of durability and ease of ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright reliability and more about whether the vehicle’s packaging and transmission behaviour suit your expectations over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims differ most clearly in comfort and convenience equipment. Base trims get cloth upholstery and standard eight-passenger seating, while higher trims add semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, and Platinum switches to second-row captain’s chairs for seven-passenger seating. Buyers who want more upscale features should pay close attention to the trim gap.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Standard all-wheel drive is included in Canada, and the setup is tuned for smooth, stable everyday driving rather than hybrid efficiency.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Pathfinder, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, a driver alertness monitor, rear door alert, and forward-collision warning. Upper trims add a surround-view monitor, and Platinum gets an extra airbag.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and a 7-inch digital driver-information display. Upper trims move to a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, door-to-door connected navigation, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel on Platinum.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel consumption figures are not stated in the available data.

Which 2022 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it still gives you standard AWD, the V6, and the full Safety Shield 360 suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and are comfortable giving up the extra comfort and tech upgrades found higher up.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience without pushing you into luxury pricing. It also gets the panoramic moonroof and roof rack, which are standard on SV and higher.
• SL: This is the step up if you want a more upscale cabin, with semi-aniline leather-appointed seating and access to the optional Premium package. It suits you if you want a more premium feel without going all the way to Platinum.
• Platinum: This is the most fully equipped version, with standard second-row captain’s chairs, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, a head-up display, a surround-view monitor, and the most airbags. It is the right pick if you want the most comfort and technology.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the range, while the surround-view monitor is reserved for upper trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,387 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $33,623 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,603 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper future resale gains if you sell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you may need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out. The good news is that the Pathfinder’s broad appeal as a family-focused midsize SUV should help keep demand steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Pathfinder, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, a driver alertness monitor, rear door alert, and forward-collision warning. A rearview camera is standard as well, while upper trims get a surround-view monitor. Ten airbags are standard, and Platinum gets 11.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan’s updated 9-speed automatic and standard AWD give this year a more modern, capable feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,108 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $33,623 CAD average.
• It adds the Rock Creek edition, a more rugged version of the Pathfinder.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a broad feature set. If you are willing to pay more for the Rock Creek edition and a slightly newer model year, the 2023 is worth a look.
