Is the 2022 Nissan Kicks a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Kicks earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, comfortable interior, and impressive fuel efficiency. That fits well if you want a practical, value-focused subcompact SUV for everyday use rather than a performance-first vehicle. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding attractive pricing.

Is the 2022 Nissan Kicks reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for its sensible design and efficient daily use. That said, used buyers should still check maintenance history and overall condition carefully, since long-term ownership risk always depends on how the vehicle was treated.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Kicks?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 318 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,312 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Kicks's resale value?

The current average of $18,794 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,168 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market appreciation. Strong pricing discipline now can help protect your position later if you keep the vehicle in clean, well-maintained shape.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Kicks or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,427 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,794 CAD average.
• It keeps the refreshed, budget-friendly appeal while adding more features.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of value, owner satisfaction, and deal availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the better price-sensitive path and still delivers the Kicks’ practical, easygoing character.
