Used 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz for Sale near Ontario

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?

Prices have softened 15.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 114 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns a 4.64/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its unique design, versatile features, comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and impressive fuel economy. That lines up well with its role as a pickup-style vehicle for you if you want something more rugged than a sedan or crossover SUV, but easier to park than a conventional truck. With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with praise for its comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and versatile features. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing a crossover-like driving experience and a cabin that works well for the Santa Cruz’s mission. Hyundai’s 5-year, 100,000-kilometre new-vehicle limited warranty adds some ownership reassurance, but you should still weigh the higher-than-expected price and the truck’s limited towing focus against your long-term needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred grade is the starting point, while the Preferred with the Trend Package adds equipment and the Ultimate brings the most features. The base setup uses halogen headlights, which keep the model from reaching the IIHS top rating, so you should check whether the trim you are considering includes the lighting and convenience features you want.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Santa Cruz uses a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It delivers strong output and a smooth, car-like driving feel, but it is not built for serious off-roading.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-follow assist, rear-seat reminder, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring and collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist. Highway Driving Assist and a surround-view camera system are available on the Ultimate grade.
• Infotainment: The standard 8-inch touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims can add a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Santa Cruz at 10.6 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 12.1 L/100 km in the city and 8.6 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Preferred with the Trend Package, Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Santa Cruz experience with standard all-wheel drive, the turbocharged 2.5-litre engine, and the full suite of standard safety features. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the model and do not need the extra tech or comfort upgrades.
• Preferred with the Trend Package: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without jumping all the way to the top trim. If you want a more polished daily driver with more convenience and visual appeal, this is the trim to focus on.
• Ultimate: Choose this if you want the most complete Santa Cruz, including the larger touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, surround-view camera system, and Highway Driving Assist. It suits you best if you value tech and convenience over keeping the purchase price down.

The safety package is strong across the range, but the IIHS top rating is limited by the standard halogen headlights on Preferred grades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 114 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,399 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $29,449 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,991 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper future resale gains if you plan to sell later. For a future seller, the current trend means you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if similar listings remain plentiful. The Santa Cruz’s distinctive positioning and strong owner satisfaction should still help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz safe?

The Santa Cruz is a Top Safety Pick as designated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), falling short of the organization’s top rating due to the halogen headlights that are standard on the Preferred grades.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-follow assist, rear-seat reminder, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring and collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist. Highway Driving Assist and a surround-view camera system are available on the Ultimate grade. The main caveat is that the standard halogen headlights keep the Santa Cruz from reaching the IIHS’s highest designation.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as Hyundai’s first pickup and a compact, unibody alternative to conventional trucks, which gives it a distinctive place in the market.

The bottom line: If you want the Santa Cruz’s unique mix of truck styling, car-like driving manners, and strong owner approval, the 2022 is the right year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep an eye out for listings near the low end of the range, because the market has softened enough to create some negotiating room.
