Used 2022 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Newfoundland and Labrador

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 12.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 654 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its excellent value, fuel efficiency, safety features, and stylish design. The expert review also highlights its roomy cabin and strong standard equipment, which fit well if you want a compact sedan that feels more polished than basic.

The trade-offs are a base engine that can feel underwhelming, plus some noise and uncomfortable seats. Even so, the Elantra makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped daily driver with strong efficiency and a lot of features for the money.

Only 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for its strong value, fuel efficiency, and feature content. The expert review also reinforces that it feels like a car you can count on for everyday use, especially if you prioritise efficiency and practicality.

Hyundai’s five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty, including powertrain coverage, adds peace of mind for used buyers. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that a neglected example could still show the usual wear-and-tear issues tied to comfort and cabin refinement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential trim is the most basic version, while Preferred, Ultimate, and N Line add more equipment and a more upscale feel. The base trim misses some of the convenience and safety content that appears on higher grades, so you should check carefully whether the features you want are standard or optional.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder makes 147 horsepower and is paired with a six-speed manual on Essential or a CVT on other grades. It is efficient and adequate for daily driving, but it can feel short on power when you need quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assistance, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential, but they are standard on other grades.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, HD Radio, four speakers, and dual USB ports. Higher trims add a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system, but the larger screen uses wired smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-litre engine is rated as low as 6.7 L/100 km combined, while the N Line reaches as high as 7.6 L/100 km combined. The Elantra Hybrid is rated at 4.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Ultimate, and N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want wireless smartphone integration, a rearview camera, and a strong safety foundation. It makes the most sense if you are focused on affordability and can live without the extra convenience and safety features found higher up the range.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more speakers, satellite radio, and Blue Link connected services, while also unlocking more safety equipment. If you want a balanced mix of price, comfort, and features, this is the trim to target first.
• Ultimate: Choose this if you want the more premium tech experience, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and Bose audio. It suits you best if you plan to keep the car longer and want the most upscale non-sport version.
• N Line: This is the enthusiast choice, with a turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, and a more aggressive look and feel. It is the right pick if you want the most engaging Elantra, but the sport seats may not suit everyone on long drives.

Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential, but they are standard on the other grades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 654 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,567 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $18,567 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,235 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment. If prices remain under pressure, you may need to lean on condition, mileage, and trim desirability to stand out.

Well-equipped trims and strong fuel economy should help support demand, especially for shoppers who want value and efficiency in a compact sedan. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns five-star overall crash protection from NHTSA, with four-star front crash protection and five-star side crash protection and rollover resistance. It also earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS, with Good ratings in all six crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assistance, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential, but they are standard on other trims, and Safe Exit Warning is also included on higher grades.

A key caveat is that lower-level trims with halogen headlights receive a Marginal IIHS rating, while trims with LED headlights earn a Good rating.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong value, excellent fuel economy, and a broad safety feature set.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,539 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,567 CAD average.
• It offers a polished redesign with strong space, style, and refinement.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,885 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,567 CAD average.
• It broadens the lineup with more choice, including a hybrid and sportier options.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want the best mix of price, features, and efficiency. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money, while the 2023 is worth considering if you want a broader range of trims and powertrains.
