Is the 2022 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 4.88/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and powerful performance, and many also like the wide range of options and features available across the lineup. That flexibility fits well if you want a truck that can handle work duties, family use, or a more premium setup. Is the 2022 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many people find dependable in daily use, with praise for its smooth driving character and strong performance. That said, the model year’s documented concerns around the transmission, engines, four-wheel drive system, A/C system, infotainment connectivity, and certain recalls mean you should still inspect any used example carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a truck that has unresolved mechanical or electrical issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,324 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,229 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $42,248 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,776 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may face pressure if prices continue to ease. Even so, the F-150’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $37,105 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $42,248 CAD average.
• It introduced the redesigned cabin and available hybrid powertrain.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $50,465 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $42,248 CAD average.
• It adds the Raptor R and an XLT Heritage Edition.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong mix of owner satisfaction, inventory, and softer pricing. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the smarter value play; if you want newer special editions and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
