Used 2022 Ford Expedition for Sale near Ontario

How much does the 2022 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 13.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 153 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Expedition earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its towing capability, comfort for long trips, and spacious interior. Many also see it as a good value relative to other large SUVs, and the overall feedback points to a vehicle that feels well suited to family duty and long-distance travel.

The trade-offs are clear: fuel economy is poor, the ride can feel busy, and occasional technical glitches may frustrate you. Even so, if you want a full-size SUV with strong presence, a roomy cabin, and useful technology, this one fits that brief well.

Only 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2022 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle you can count on for towing, comfort, and spaciousness over the long haul. That kind of repeat praise matters when you’re shopping used, because it suggests the Expedition’s strengths hold up in everyday ownership.

The expert review also backs up its dependability with praise for the twin-turbocharged engine, the huge and comfortable cabin, and the impressive technology. Ford also includes a complimentary 90-day trial subscription to connected navigation service.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Expedition’s size, fuel use, and tech complexity can make it more demanding than a simpler SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Expedition?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2022 Expedition is offered in 4 trim levels: XLT, Limited, Platinum, and Timberline. Limited and Platinum can be had in standard- and extended-length body styles, while the Stealth Edition packages are available only with Limited trim. The base setup includes standard 4WD, but the higher trims bring more equipment and, in the case of Platinum, more advanced standard driver assistance.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Output varies by version, and the engine is praised for its strong, addictive power delivery. Fuel economy ranges from 12.9 to 13.9 L/100 km in combined driving.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder. Starting with Limited, Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centring assist, speed-limit-sign recognition, intersection assist, and evasive steering assist. Platinum gets Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 standard, which adds a surround-view camera system, rear automatic emergency braking, and Active Park Assist 2.0.
• Infotainment: The standard Sync 4 system uses a 12-inch touchscreen, while Sync 4A upgrades to a 15.5-inch portrait touchscreen. Both include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, FordPass Connect with Wi-Fi hotspot access, natural voice recognition, and connected navigation. Sync 4 adds wireless smartphone charging and premium audio options, while Sync 4A adds an upgraded conversational voice-recognition system and driver profiles.
• Fuel efficiency: The Expedition is not fuel-efficient, and the review records combined consumption of 12.9 to 13.9 L/100 km, with an observed figure of 14.5 L/100 km on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2022 Ford Expedition is offered in 4 trim levels: XLT, Limited, Platinum, and Timberline.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Expedition experience with standard 4WD and the full-size SUV packaging that makes the model appealing in the first place. If you want the least expensive way into the lineup, this is the trim to start with.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it unlocks Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ and can be paired with the Stealth Edition packages. It also brings the more upscale feel that suits the Expedition’s strong cabin and technology story.
• Platinum: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete on-road experience, because Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 is standard here. It also gets the surround-view camera system, rear automatic emergency braking, and Active Park Assist 2.0.
• Timberline: This is the trim for you if you want the off-road-focused version, since it adds all-terrain tires, suspension modifications, more ground clearance, a skid plate, and Trail Control.

The safety-package step-up starts with Limited trim, where Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds the extra driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should still compare listings carefully rather than rushing.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 153 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,397 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $54,403 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,095 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Expedition more attractive to used buyers today but less favourable for sellers trying to maximise return. If you own one and plan to sell later, the current softness means you may need to price competitively to stand out.

The good news is that the Expedition’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal as a family-focused full-size SUV should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2022 Ford Expedition earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford groups the Expedition’s driver-assistance systems into three Co-Pilot360 collections. The standard package includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder system. Starting with Limited trim, Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centring assist, speed-limit-sign recognition, intersection assist, and evasive steering assist. Platinum trim gets Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 standard, which adds a surround-view camera system, rear automatic emergency braking, and Active Park Assist 2.0.

The lane-centring system drew criticism in testing because it could issue unnecessary warnings and occasionally behaved inconsistently in heavier traffic. That means you should treat the more advanced highway-assist features as helpful, but not flawless.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model brings updated infotainment tech and a strong expert impression, with the review calling it a terrific full-size SUV in all ways but one.

The bottom line: If you want the Expedition with updated tech, strong owner approval, and a softer used-market price than last year, the 2022 is the one to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the broader market and compare nearby model years, but the 2022 already looks like a sensible buy when you find a well-priced example.
