Used 2022 Ford Expedition for Sale nearToronto, ON

How much does the 2022 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 14.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 153 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Expedition earns a 4.83/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its towing capability, comfort for long trips, and spacious interior. Many also see it as a good value, especially relative to other large SUVs, and the overall ownership experience comes across as dependable and satisfying over the long term.

The trade-offs are clear: fuel economy is poor, the ride can feel busy, and occasional technical glitches show up in expert testing. Even so, the Expedition fits you well if you want a full-size SUV with strong presence, modern tech, and a premium feel for family duty or road trips.

Only 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards shoppers who move carefully.

Is the 2022 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people can count on for towing, comfort, and spaciousness, with many describing it as a dependable choice for family use and travel. That kind of repeat praise suggests the Expedition has the sort of durability and day-to-day consistency used buyers want.

Expert testing also supports that impression on the powertrain side, with the twin-turbo V6 described as strong and the SUV’s highway manners as relaxed and effortless. The main ownership risk is that its size, complexity, and technology can bring higher running costs and more things to monitor over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Expedition?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2022 Expedition is offered in 4 trim levels: XLT, Limited, Platinum, and Timberline. The Limited and Platinum trims add more upscale equipment, while the Timberline is the one to focus on if you want the off-road-oriented setup with all-terrain tyres, suspension changes, more ground clearance, a skid plate, and Trail Control.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy ranges from 12.9 to 13.9 L/100 km in combined driving, and the powertrain can tow up to 4,173 kg when properly equipped.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder. Limited adds Co-Pilot360 Assist+, while Platinum gets Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 standard.
• Infotainment: Standard Sync 4 uses a 12-inch touchscreen, while Sync 4A upgrades you to a 15.5-inch portrait touchscreen. Both systems include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and both support over-the-air-connected features through FordPass Connect.
• Fuel efficiency: The Expedition is not fuel-efficient, with combined consumption ranging from 12.9 to 13.9 L/100 km. In testing, it returned 14.5 L/100 km on the evaluation loop.

The best-value trim is usually the one that gives you the equipment you actually want without pushing you too far up the price ladder, while the Platinum is the pick if you want the most standard luxury and safety tech. If you want the most distinctive character, the Timberline is the trim that clearly changes the Expedition’s mission.

Which 2022 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2022 Ford Expedition is offered in 4 trim levels: XLT, Limited, Platinum, and Timberline.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Expedition’s core space, power, and standard safety equipment without paying for extras you may not need.
• Limited: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it unlocks more comfort and technology, including the available Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package and the option for the Stealth Edition appearance treatment.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale feel and the standard Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 package, including the surround-view camera system, rear automatic emergency braking, and Active Park Assist 2.0.
• Timberline: Pick this if you want the most rugged version, since it adds all-terrain tyres, suspension modifications, more ground clearance, a skid plate, and Trail Control.

For safety-package shoppers, note that Co-Pilot360 Assist+ starts with Limited, while Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 is standard on Platinum and available on other versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 153 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,536 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $54,536 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,468 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more competition if values continue to soften. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a lower entry point than owners did a year ago, which can help reduce depreciation pressure in the near term.

Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2022 Ford Expedition earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it brings forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder. Starting with Limited, Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centring assist, speed-limit-sign recognition, intersection assist, and evasive steering assist. Platinum gets Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 standard, which adds a surround-view camera system, rear automatic emergency braking, and Active Park Assist 2.0.

The main caution is that the lane-centring system can be irritating and inconsistent in heavier traffic, so you should test it carefully if you plan to rely on highway assistance often. If you want the most complete safety setup, look for a trim with the higher-level driver-assistance package.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for its updated infotainment tech, strong twin-turbo V6, and the availability of the Timberline trim and Stealth Edition packages.

The bottom line: If you want a used Expedition with updated tech, strong owner approval, and a softer price than last year, the 2022 is the year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market closely and focus on listings near the low end of the range, since the current pricing trend gives you a better chance to find value.
