Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval. It is built around serious capability rather than everyday softness, with up to 16,300 kilograms of towing and up to 3,300 kilograms of payload in the right configuration. The truck also brings a strong mix of powertrain and utility choices, including two V8 engines, an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive standard, four-wheel drive available, dual-rear-wheel availability, and the Multi-Flex Tailgate across all trim levels. For you, that means this model makes the most sense if your priorities are towing, hauling, and work-focused utility rather than a plush cabin. 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a heavy-duty pickup built for serious work, with a clear focus on capability, trailering support, and useful hardware. Its advanced trailering app and camera views are a major strength when manoeuvring a truck this large, and the available safety equipment adds useful confidence for demanding use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s purpose and more about whether a previous owner used it hard, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 88 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $63,623 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $64,920 CAD sits slightly below last year's $65,163 CAD.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help future sellers because it points to predictable pricing rather than sharp swings. The truck’s heavy-duty capability and trailering-focused appeal should continue to support demand among buyers who need serious work capacity. If you keep mileage, condition, and maintenance in good shape, you should have a reasonable path to resale when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, useful trailering tech, and a stable used-market price, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price better fits your budget, but the 2022 remains a solid starting point for shoppers focused on work-ready value.
