Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and useful features like the backup camera and electronic mirrors. That lines up well with its heavy-duty mission: you’re getting a truck aimed at serious capability, but with a cabin that feels more equipped than many work-focused alternatives. With 30.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with praise for its powerful performance and smooth ride. When shoppers repeatedly highlight a vehicle as trouble-free and easy to live with over the long term, that usually supports confidence in used ownership.

For you, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about buying a large, expensive heavy-duty pickup without a careful inspection and service history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 143 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,308 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $56,647 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,968 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be a mixed signal if you plan to sell later. On one hand, softer prices can make it easier for you to buy in now. On the other, they also mean future resale gains may be more limited unless demand strengthens.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this truck’s value is being supported by steady buyer interest rather than rapid appreciation. If you maintain it well and keep service records, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with proven owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with lower asking prices may be worth a look, but the 2022 remains the better all-around pick if you value confidence and a well-regarded ownership experience.
