Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.28/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,573 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $40,615 CAD average.
• It offers a proven, broadly appealing truck with strong sales and loyal buyers.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $46,451 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $40,615 CAD average.
• It adds power upgrades for the optional Duramax diesel and a new ZR2 Bison off-road configuration.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed cabin and a strong mix of capability and modern features without stepping up to the pricier 2023. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better secondary path, especially if you can live with its older interior and want a lower entry price.
