Used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 13.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 406 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.78/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, fuel efficiency, and spaciousness, and they also like the smooth ride and modern features. That lines up well with the Equinox’s role as a practical compact crossover for you if you want an easygoing, value-focused SUV rather than something especially flashy or cutting-edge. 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for its value and everyday usability. The expert review also describes it as a proven formula rather than a cutting-edge one, which can be reassuring if you want a used SUV with a familiar setup. Chevy’s three-year, 60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain coverage are also helpful ownership protections.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Equinox’s basic nature and middling refinement may feel less satisfying than newer rivals over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS is the most stripped-back version, while higher trims add more equipment and the RS brings black exterior trim, darkened 19-inch wheels, a black interior with red stitching, and a model-specific shift knob. If you want the best value, the RS stands out for adding personality without changing the Equinox’s core formula.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. It feels strong in city driving, but it can sound coarse and less refined at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Chevy’s Teen Driver system. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, a surround-view camera system, Safety Alert Seat, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist. Some of these features are standard on rival SUVs.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Higher trims get an 8-inch touchscreen and a 4.2-inch instrument-cluster screen, and navigation plus a Bose 7-speaker audio system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Equinox at 8.4 L/100 km combined with front-wheel drive and 8.8 L/100 km combined with all-wheel drive.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 3 trim levels: LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Equinox lineup and are comfortable with the most basic equipment.
• LT: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it adds more everyday convenience without pushing the price as high as the top model.
• Premier: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the Equinox and are willing to pay more for the top-end experience.

The safety package includes standard driver-assistance features across the lineup, while some extras remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 406 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,323 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $22,323 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,822 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Equinox is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you own one, you may need to price it competitively to stand out, especially because the model competes in a crowded segment with fresher rivals. The good news is that the price range is still fairly tight, which can help keep values from swinging too wildly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2022 Equinox received top “Good” scores in most Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests, but received a “Marginal” rating in the updated side crash test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave it five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests, and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist and safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Chevy’s Teen Driver system. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, a surround-view camera system, Safety Alert Seat, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist.

The Marginal side-crash result is the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus revised styling and available parking-assist tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,928 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,323 CAD average.
• It adds a little extra power and a more sophisticated braking system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2022 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and inventory is decent. If you can stretch for a newer model and want the incremental updates, the 2023 is the better secondary path for buyers who care more about refinement than price.
