What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Komfort gives you the core A3 experience, while Progressiv adds more equipment and Technik brings the most upscale presentation. The available digital instrument panel is standard on Technik and available on Progressiv, so base-trim shoppers should check whether the features you want are included.
• Powertrain: You’re looking at a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder with 201 horsepower, 221 pound-feet of torque, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The setup is tuned for quick shifting and balanced efficiency.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning. Available features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centring.
• Infotainment: The A3 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen for MMI, with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto included. The 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit is standard on Technik and available on Progressiv, and wireless charging is available.

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Komfort, Progressiv, Technik.

Here's the short version:

• Komfort: This is the entry point to the A3 line, and it gives you the core premium compact sedan formula with standard all-wheel drive, the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, and the main safety and infotainment basics. It makes sense if you want the A3’s design and driving character at the lowest price.
• Progressiv: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more of the upscale tech and convenience content without jumping all the way to the top model. If you want a stronger mix of equipment and price, this is the trim to focus on.
• Technik: This is the most feature-rich A3, with the most complete technology presentation and the strongest luxury feel. It suits you if you want the fullest version of the car and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety package is broad across the range, but some of the more advanced driver-assistance features remain available rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A3?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 16.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 56 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.89% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,159 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $26,159 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,379 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level rather than broad market momentum alone. Well-kept examples with desirable features should be easier to move than stripped or heavily used ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 safe?

The 2022 Audi A3 has not yet been rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it its top rating of "Good" in all crashworthiness tests and "Acceptable" in ease of use for LATCH connectors.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, electronic child locks, rear side airbags, and LATCH in the rear seats. Available driver assistance features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centring.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 16.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model launches an all-new generation with standard quattro all-wheel drive and an upscale redesign.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the A3 with standard AWD and a strong mix of premium features, the 2022 is the right place to start. If you’re more price-sensitive, the softened market and decent deal share make it worth waiting for a well-priced example rather than stretching for a newer alternative.
