How much does the 2022 Audi A3 cost?

Prices have softened 12.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 52 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4/5 user-rated premium compact sedan with an 8.83/10 expert rating. The 2022 A3 is positioned as an all-new generation entry-level luxury sedan with a more upscale presence, standard quattro all-wheel drive, and a broad trim range that lets you choose how much equipment you want.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The A3’s premium compact-sedan brief is clear: it aims to give you a stylish, well-finished four-door with strong standard equipment and a modern cabin, while the available trim spread and features let you move up if you want more luxury and tech. 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The A3 is described as a familiar, proven choice in its class, and its turbocharged 2.0-litre engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that’s presented as a strong asset for performance and efficiency. Audi also positions the car with upscale materials and a durable-feeling interior, which supports the impression of a well-built premium sedan.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a maintenance perk on some trims, which can help reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that premium-car ownership can become more expensive if you buy a higher-spec example without checking service history carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Komfort trim gives you the core A3 experience, while Progressiv and Technik add more premium equipment. The cabin design and materials are a strong point, but the biggest feature gaps are at the lower trim levels, where some of the more desirable tech and convenience items are reserved for higher versions.
• Powertrain: You’re getting a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, plus a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The setup is tuned for quick shifting and balanced efficiency, and the S3 uses a more powerful version of the same basic engine architecture.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning. Available features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centring. Check carefully for trim-level gaps if you want the more advanced driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: The A3 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen for MMI, with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto included. The 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit is standard on Technik and available on Progressiv, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada fuel consumption is 8.5 L/100 km in city driving, 6.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.6 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Komfort, Progressiv, Technik.

Here's the short version:

• Komfort: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core A3 formula at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the new-generation A3 experience and standard quattro without paying for the extra luxury and tech upgrades.
• Progressiv: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more of the premium equipment you’re likely to notice day to day, and it can be optioned with the Navigation package to bring in navigation and the digital instrument panel.
• Technik: This is the most fully equipped A3, with the strongest tech and luxury presentation, including standard Audi Virtual Cockpit and the Bang & Olufsen sound system.

The safety package is broad across the range, but some of the more advanced driver-assistance features remain available rather than standard, so check the exact equipment on any used example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop with a shortlist and be ready to move when you find the right car.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 52 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.36% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,173 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $26,588 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,336 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be helpful if you’re buying now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one for a few years, the current softness may limit near-term upside, especially if your car is not in a desirable trim or lacks key options. On the other hand, a well-kept example with the right equipment should still appeal to premium compact-sedan shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 safe?

The 2022 Audi A3 has not yet been rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it its top rating of "Good" in all crashworthiness tests and "Acceptable" in ease of use for LATCH connectors.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, electronic child locks, rear side airbags, and LATCH anchors and tethers in the rear seats. Available driver-assistance features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centring.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It’s the start of an all-new generation, with standard quattro all-wheel drive and a more premium-feeling cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the newest-generation A3 with strong standard equipment and a premium compact-sedan feel, the 2022 is the right place to start. If you’re more price-sensitive, focus on the best-equipped used example you can find in the lower end of the current range, especially if it has the options you want.
