How much does the 2022 Acura RDX cost?

Prices have softened 8.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 158 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Acura RDX earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth drive, comfortable interior, and strong overall quality, while also highlighting the vehicle’s features and storage capacity. That lines up well with the RDX’s role as a compact luxury SUV that aims to balance comfort, utility, and a premium feel. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a well-rounded luxury SUV rather than the most cutting-edge interface design.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Acura RDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly calling out the RDX’s comfort, quality, and smooth driving character. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of durability and day-to-day confidence through its polished ride, solid build quality, and quieter cabin. Acura’s added refinement for 2022 should help the SUV feel more settled over time, though used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how well the technology and driver-assist systems have aged.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base model, Technology, A-Spec, A-Spec Platinum Elite, and PMC Edition. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, since higher trims add more premium equipment and, in some cases, a more upscale cabin experience.
• Powertrain: Every 2022 RDX uses the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. In Canada, SH-AWD is standard, and the drivetrain is tuned for strong everyday response and confident all-weather use.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The RDX uses a 10.2-inch display with Acura’s touchpad-based TTI system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and starting with the Technology package, you get navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation recorded 11.4 L/100 km on its test loop, and it also references a Natural Resources Canada rating of 10.3 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Technology, A-Spec, A-Spec Platinum Elite, and PMC Edition.

Here's the short version:

• base model: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the core RDX formula: turbocharged power, standard SH-AWD in Canada, and the main AcuraWatch safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is the least richly equipped version.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation and a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system. If you want a more complete luxury-SUV experience without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the trim to target.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier appearance and a more expressive feel. It sits above Technology and is aimed at buyers who care about style as much as equipment.
• A-Spec Platinum Elite: This is the most compelling upper trim if you want the richest feature set, including the 10.5-inch head-up display and the adaptive-damping suspension. It also benefits from the smoother, more comfortable ride tuning described in the expert review.
• PMC Edition: This is the limited-production halo trim, with exclusive Long Beach Blue Pearl paint and an Orchid white interior. It is the one to choose if rarity and special appearance matter most.

With Technology and higher, the RDX adds front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 158 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,619 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $37,621 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,305 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the RDX more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim choice than it would be in a rising market. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should still hold attention, especially because the model has strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal in the compact luxury SUV segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura RDX safe?

The 2022 Acura RDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA. It earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. For 2022, Acura also added a rear seatbelt reminder system. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the lane-keeping and lane-centring systems were not always as smooth as you might want, especially in challenging conditions.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Acura’s 2022 refresh adds quieter refinement and updated styling.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,914 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,621 CAD average.
• It offers a modern design and a practical luxury feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,218 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,621 CAD average.
• It keeps the comfort and performance strengths while remaining easy to live with.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated refinement, strong owner satisfaction, and current-market pricing, the 2022 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-year alternative, the 2023 is the natural step up.
