overall

Summary
With 156 currently listed for sale and an average price of $38,127 CAD, 28.2% of 2022 Acura RDXs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Acura RDX 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Acura RDX stands out as a compact luxury SUV that aims to balance everyday usefulness with a premium feel. It comes with a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a standard-in-Canada torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, and five trim levels, giving buyers a fairly broad range of choices within the model line. Acura also freshens the 2022 RDX with new styling, a quieter cabin, additional equipment, and refined ride and handling characteristics for some versions, which helps it feel more polished than a simple carryover update.
What makes the 2022 Acura RDX appealing is that it is positioned as the smaller of Acura’s two sport-utes while still delivering on both parts of the SUV equation. That combination should suit shoppers who want a luxury crossover that is practical without feeling stripped down. Owner feedback also points to a smooth drive, a comfortable interior, strong overall quality, and useful storage capacity. On the other hand, some drivers dislike the non-touch screen interface and wish for more technology such as a heads-up display, so the RDX’s strengths are not without a few usability compromises.

The Acura RDX is a great choice for a car. It has everything that I could ask for in a car. I loved the color choices, both in and out. The car rides smooth with 4 choices to drive in all weather conditions. This is my first car with Bluetooth which adds to my enjoyable ride. My short list for a new car included BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and Toyota Highlander. I definitely made the right choice with my new Acura RDX .

It’s a fun little SUV, not too small & not too big. Zippy for a 4 cylinder! Lots of storage with seats down. Seats are comfortable. I wish the heads-up display option was on this vehicle. Overall happy with purchase so far!

Is the 2022 Acura RDX a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Acura RDX earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.
Owners consistently praise the smooth drive, comfortable interior, strong overall quality, and useful storage capacity. That lines up well with the RDX’s role as a compact luxury SUV that aims to balance everyday usefulness with a premium feel. It should suit you if you want a smaller luxury sport-ute that feels practical without giving up refinement.
With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to find value if you shop carefully.
Is the 2022 Acura RDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for comfort, quality, and the kind of everyday usability that helps a vehicle feel easy to count on. The expert evaluation also describes the RDX as thoroughly enjoyable to drive and better refined for 2022, which supports the impression of a well-sorted SUV.
Acura’s added refinement for 2022 should help reduce some ownership frustrations, but the non-standard infotainment approach means you should make sure you’re comfortable with the interface before buying used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is more about usability than mechanical character.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura RDX?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes the base model, Technology, A-Spec, A-Spec Platinum Elite, and PMC Edition. The base version is the most affordable, but the higher trims add more premium equipment and a quieter, more polished feel.
- Powertrain: Every 2022 RDX uses the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder VTEC engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard SH-AWD in Canada. It delivers strong everyday thrust, but fuel use can climb if you drive hard.
- Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
- Infotainment: The system uses a 10.2-inch display with Acura’s touchpad controller, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa Built-in, satellite radio, and AcuraLink connected services. Starting with the Technology package, you also get navigation.
- Fuel efficiency: The evaluation loop returned 11.4 L/100 km, and Natural Resources Canada’s rating is 10.3 L/100 km as tested.
Which 2022 Acura RDX trim should I buy?
The 2022 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Technology, A-Spec, A-Spec Platinum Elite, and PMC Edition.
Here's the short version:
- base model: This is the entry point if you want the RDX’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the standard turbocharged engine, SH-AWD, the 10.2-inch display, wireless smartphone integration, and AcuraWatch, so it covers the essentials well.
- Technology: This is the best-value trim if you want a more complete luxury experience. It adds navigation and a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system, making it a smart step up for most shoppers.
- A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and a more expressive feel without jumping all the way to the top trims.
- A-Spec Platinum Elite: This is the most polished mainstream choice. It adds the adaptive-damping suspension, a 10.5-inch head-up display, and the 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D audio system, making it the trim to target if comfort and equipment matter most.
- PMC Edition: This is the limited-production halo trim with exclusive Long Beach Blue Pearl paint and an Orchid white interior. It is for you if rarity and appearance matter more than value.
With Technology and higher trims, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura RDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 155 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $38,108 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Acura RDX's resale value?
The current average of $38,108 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,713 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against a future seller if you buy at the wrong time. On the other hand, it also means you may be entering ownership at a more reasonable cost basis than shoppers did a year ago.
If the RDX continues to hold its reputation for comfort, quality, and strong owner satisfaction, that should help support demand when you eventually sell. A well-kept example with desirable equipment will likely be easier to move than a stripped or less appealing one.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Acura RDX safe?
The 2022 Acura RDX earns a Top Safety Pick+ safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA. It gets four-star frontal-impact and rollover resistance ratings, coupled with five-star side-impact ratings.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. A rear seatbelt reminder system is also new for 2022. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
The main caveat is that the lane-keeping and lane-centring systems can issue false warnings and unnecessary steering corrections in some conditions, so you should test those systems carefully on a used example.
Should I buy a 2022 Acura RDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Acura’s 2022 refresh brings quieter cabin tuning, added equipment, and refined ride and handling.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $33,397 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $38,108 CAD average.
- It offers a modern third-generation design with strong practicality and a premium feel.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $41,944 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,108 CAD average.
- It remains a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong performance, comfort, and accessible pricing.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed cabin, stronger refinement, and a still-reasonable market price. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the smarter value play; if you want a newer-year alternative and can spend more, the 2023 is worth a look.
