What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE and XLE use a cleaner grille, while the SE and XSE add more aggressive styling but also more visual clutter from fake vents. The base LE rides on 16-inch steel wheels, while other trims move to alloy wheels. If you want the best-value balance, the SE is the middle-ground choice, but the XLE and XSE add leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, a 3.5-litre V6, or a hybrid system. The four-cylinder is the most common setup and is paired with an eight-speed automatic, while AWD is available with the four-cylinder and FWD is used for the V6 and hybrid.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the XLE and XSE, but optional on the LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Higher trims can add a 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, SiriusXM, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system, while the XSE and XLE can also get a 10-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder LE and SE are rated at 7.4 L/100 km combined with FWD and 8.2 L/100 km combined with AWD. The V6 is rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the hybrid is rated at 4.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XSE, XLE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Camry’s core strengths without paying for extras. It keeps the cleaner exterior look and standard safety tech, but you give up some of the nicer convenience and appearance upgrades found higher up.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a sportier look and sits in the middle of the range without pushing you into the pricier luxury-oriented trims. It’s a smart pick if you want a more distinctive Camry without overextending your budget.
• XSE: Choose this if you want the sportiest appearance and more upscale equipment, including the available leather upholstery and head-up display. It suits you best if style and features matter more than keeping costs down.
• XLE: This is the comfort-oriented trim, with a more premium feel and standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It makes the most sense if you want the most relaxed, well-equipped Camry experience.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the XLE and XSE.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 97 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.

What is the 2021 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $24,071 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,123 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you buy now, because you may be starting from a lower entry point than recent sellers enjoyed. For a future seller, though, it also means there is less room for appreciation if the market stays soft. The Camry’s broad appeal should help support demand, but resale value will still depend on trim, condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
