Used 2021 Subaru Crosstrek for Sale near British Columbia

How much does the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 10.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 207 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for used-car shoppers.

Is the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.5/5 model, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, fuel economy, handling, and comfortable driving experience. For you, that means the Crosstrek fits especially well if you want a practical small hatchback with SUV-like attitude, standard all-wheel drive, and easy day-to-day livability. The market also shows 25.6% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping this model year now.

Is the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for value, safety, fuel economy, and the kind of long-term confidence shoppers often want in a used vehicle. The expert assessment reinforces that impression by noting Subaru’s fairly good reputation for reliability and describing the Crosstrek as a good long-term investment. Subaru’s five-year/100,000-kilometre major component warranty and three-year/60,000 km basic warranty are average for the segment, so used buyers should still check service history carefully and pay attention to how the drivetrain and safety systems have been maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Subaru Crosstrek?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Outdoor trim adds water-repellant upholstery, Plasma Yellow Pearl interior accents, and a more distinctive look, while the Limited gets 18-inch wheels and navigation. The base model is more basic, with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and fewer convenience features.
• Powertrain: The 2.5-litre boxer-four is standard on the Outdoor and Limited, while the rest of the lineup uses the 2.0-litre boxer-four. The 2.5-litre brings more power, but the CVT still introduces some droning, and the manual is only paired with the 2.0-litre.
• Safety package: EyeSight is the key driver-assistance suite, with standard adaptive cruise control with lane centring, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning on CVT-equipped models. Automatic high beams and reverse automatic braking are added on CVT-equipped Sport and Limited grades, while lane-change assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are offered on those trims and the Outdoor grade.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Outdoor, Sport, and Limited trims upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen, and navigation is standard on Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-litre engine is rated at 8.0 L/100 km combined, while the 2.0-litre CVT version is rated at 7.9 L/100 km combined. The 2.0-litre manual is rated at 9.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Subaru Crosstrek trim should I buy?

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is offered in 5 trim levels: Convenience, Touring, Outdoor, Sport, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Convenience: This is the entry point if you want the Crosstrek’s standard all-wheel drive and basic practicality at the lowest cost, but it’s the least equipped version, so you’ll want to make sure the simpler infotainment and feature set still suit your needs.
• Touring: This is the better everyday pick if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and value without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Outdoor: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 2.5-litre engine, the 8-inch touchscreen, and useful extra safety tech, while also giving the Crosstrek a more distinctive look and more weather-friendly interior materials.
• Sport: Choose this if you want more convenience and safety equipment, including the added driver-assistance features that come with the higher trims, but it’s not the best value unless those extras matter to you.
• Limited: This is the most fully equipped choice, with the 18-inch wheels and navigation, so it makes sense if you want the most features and are willing to pay for them.

The safety package centres on Subaru’s EyeSight system, and the strongest feature set is tied to CVT-equipped models and higher trims.

• Inventory: There are 207 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.

What is the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $23,116 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,802 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The year-round range is fairly tight, which suggests values have settled into a more stable band rather than swinging wildly. If you maintain the Crosstrek well and keep service records, its reputation for value and reliability should help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

EyeSight is the key driver-assistance suite, and CVT-equipped models get standard adaptive cruise control with lane centring, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Automatic high beams and reverse automatic braking are included on CVT-equipped Sport and Limited grades, while lane-change assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are offered on those trims and the Outdoor grade. The IIHS award applies only to models with some available EyeSight driver-assist features and Steering Responsive Headlights, so you’ll want to confirm the exact equipment on any used example.

Should I buy a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model year adds the Outdoor trim, the available 2.5-litre engine, and an upgraded EyeSight system.

The bottom line: The 2021 Crosstrek is a smart choice if you want the updated trim and powertrain mix, plus strong owner satisfaction and safety credentials. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the 2021’s added equipment and broader trim selection.
