This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 94 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.51% compared with last year.

What is the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $12,748 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,453 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make resale a little tougher if you sell soon after buying. If you purchase at the right price, though, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The Crosstrek’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value practicality and all-wheel drive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a smart choice if you want the Crosstrek’s core strengths — practicality, all-wheel drive confidence, and strong owner approval — at a softer used-car price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
