That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you buy now, you are entering at a lower average cost than a year ago, which can help cushion depreciation if the market stays steady. Strong owner satisfaction can also support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Lincoln Aviator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness, the 2021 is the year to focus on first. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2021’s stronger satisfaction signal and current deal availability.
