Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 388 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,466 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $23,802 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,546 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the Santa Fe’s broad appeal, practical layout, and strong feature set should help it remain competitive with other used midsize SUVs. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,485 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $23,802 CAD average.
• It offers strong value in a practical five-passenger package.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the stronger all-around package and are comfortable paying more for the newer model year. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value path, especially if you do not need the 2021’s added three-row flexibility.
