This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Inventory: There are 79 listings available.

What is the 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $22,253 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,797 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make future resale gains harder to count on in the short term. If you buy at a sensible price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later. Strong demand for well-liked compact hatchbacks can still help support values, especially when the car has broad appeal and a good reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,160 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,253 CAD average.
• The redesigned hatchback adds a fresh look and a more useful cargo area.

The bottom line: Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and are comfortable with a used-market price that has already softened. If you want the redesigned body style and extra practicality, the 2022 is the better fit, but it costs more. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2021 is the smarter starting point.
