Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the truck’s impressive power, comfortable ride, and spacious interior, while also noting its robust features and everyday usability. That lines up well with the Silverado 2500HD’s role as a heavy-duty truck that still aims to feel approachable for daily use. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in the ways heavy-duty buyers care about most, with praise for its power, comfortable ride, and robust features. That said, some owners mentioned cheaper-feeling interior materials and minor cosmetic issues, so you should inspect condition carefully on any used example. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about outright capability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard by towing or work use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $44,691 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,691 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,020 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may face more competition when it is time to trade in or list the truck privately. The current market suggests buyers have become more price-sensitive, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter more when you eventually resell. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the truck’s value will still depend heavily on how well it has been used and maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2021 is a sensible primary choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a lower average price than some nearby years, and enough inventory to compare options. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also keep shopping across adjacent years to see whether a better-equipped or lower-priced example appears, but the 2021 already offers a compelling balance of value and buyer confidence.
