CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Chevrolet Corvette
overall

Summary
With 56 currently listed for sale and an average price of $84,071 CAD, 39.3% of 2021 Chevrolet Corvette listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette 4.87 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible stands out because it delivers the Corvette experience with the added appeal of a power-operated open roof. The source notes that you’ll pay plenty for the privilege of powering down the top, but also suggests it may be worth it. Compared with the Corvette Stingray Coupe’s removable targa roof panel, the convertible offers greater convenience and a more visceral driving experience, which makes it especially appealing to buyers who want the drama of open-air motoring.
That extra enjoyment does come with trade-offs. The source is clear that you give up a few things in exchange, so the convertible is best understood as a more indulgent choice rather than the most practical one. Owner feedback reinforces the car’s appeal, with praise for its powerful performance, striking looks, and strong value relative to higher-priced supercars, while also pointing to an interior that could be more user-friendly and a character that feels a bit removed from the traditional Corvette identity.

C8 Corvette is an exceptional car. However, with that much torque & horsepower , imho the Z51 performance package is absolutely necessary to safely control the car. The selective magnetic suspension is also a must to fully enjoy this car for comfort on longer more casual trips on the interstate , etc.

An incredible supercar , but without the high cost of purchase and maintenance other supercars. A comfortable daily driver that turns into a fire breathing monster at the turn of the mode dial. I love it.

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $84,042 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $84,042 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $91,503 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $90,048 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.67% |
Prices have softened 6.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 57 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers comparing this Corvette against other used sports cars.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette earns a 4.87/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, stunning looks, and strong value for money. The convertible setup also fits buyers who want open-air drama and a more visceral driving experience, while the cabin and controls are described as easy to use in daily driving.
With 38.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette reliable?
Owners rate it 4.87/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a car that feels impressive, dependable, and worth recommending over the long haul, especially for buyers who want a high-performance sports car that still delivers strong value. The expert assessment also highlights that the Corvette is a brilliantly engineered machine with a satisfying user experience and a character that makes it easy to live with.
The ownership risk for used buyers is mainly tied to the car’s specialised sports-car nature, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Corvette?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The 2LT and 3LT add useful visibility enhancements that are not available on the 1LT, including a front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the most complete everyday usability, those features are worth prioritising.
- Powertrain: The Corvette uses a 6.2-litre V8 and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Z51 Performance Package adds performance exhaust, Magnetic Ride Control adaptive dampers, performance brakes, a performance rear-axle ratio, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, heavy-duty cooling, and high-performance run-flat tires.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes Teen Driver technology, a rearview camera mirror, a high-definition reversing camera, and rear parking sensors. Chevrolet Connected Services can add automatic collision notification and emergency calling with a subscription. The front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are restricted to the 2LT and 3LT trims.
- Infotainment: Every Corvette gets an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Chevrolet Connected Services with an available 4G LTE WiFi hotspot and SiriusXM All Access. A 12-inch digital instrument display is standard, and the 2LT adds a head-up display.
- Fuel efficiency: The source does not provide a fuel-consumption figure.
Which 2021 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.
Here's the short version:
- 1LT: This is the entry point, but it misses the visibility upgrades that make the higher trims easier to live with. It makes sense if you want the Corvette experience at the lowest starting price and can live without the extra driver-assistance features.
- 2LT: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a head-up display. If you want the most balanced mix of usability and equipment, this is the one to target.
- 3LT: Choose this if you want the most premium cabin experience and are willing to pay more for it. It builds on the 2LT’s useful equipment while moving the car further upmarket.
The safety-package upgrades are concentrated in the 2LT and 3LT, so those trims are the smarter picks if visibility and driver assistance matter to you.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Corvette?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 57 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $84,042 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?
The current average of $84,042 CAD sits slightly below last year's $90,048 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to normalise. The current range still shows healthy demand for well-kept examples, especially when the car is priced near the lower end of the market. Strong equipment, desirable trim content, and clean history should matter more if you want to protect value later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.87/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette safe?
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes Teen Driver technology, a rearview camera mirror, a high-definition reversing camera, rear parking sensors, and Chevrolet Connected Services with automatic collision notification and emergency calling when subscribed. Chevrolet also offers a front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, but those features are limited to the 2LT and 3LT trims.
The main caveat is that modern advanced driver-assistance systems are largely absent, so you should not expect adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, or hands-free cruise control.
Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.87/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2021 stands out for its open-air convertible appeal and strong value relative to higher-priced supercars.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $92,991 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $84,042 CAD average.
- It adds only minor changes, including new exterior colours and a limited-edition IMSA GTLM Championship Edition.
The bottom line: If you want the better value proposition, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it combines strong owner satisfaction with softer pricing. If you are willing to pay more for a newer example and only want minor updates, the 2022 is the secondary path for shoppers who care less about price.
