CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Chevrolet Corvette

Why it stands out
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible stands out because it delivers the open-air Corvette experience in a way that feels especially compelling. Chevrolet’s own test-drive notes say you’ll pay plenty for the privilege of powering down the convertible top, but that it might be worth it. The appeal is not just emotional, either: the summary says the Corvette Stingray Coupe has a removable targa roof panel that stows in the trunk, yet it still cannot quite match the droptop for convenience or for a more visceral driving experience.
That makes the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible a strong choice for buyers who want the drama of a mid-engine sports car with the added enjoyment of top-down driving. The trade-off is that you do give up a few things in exchange, and the source material also points to the higher cost of the convertible body style. Owner feedback reinforces the car’s broader appeal, with praise for its powerful performance, striking looks, and value for money, while also noting that the interior could be more user-friendly and that the car moves a bit away from traditional Corvette identity.

Unbelievable supercar for the money -love everything about the car, the looks, the shape, inside and performance

C8 Corvette is an exceptional car. However, with that much torque & horsepower , imho the Z51 performance package is absolutely necessary to safely control the car. The selective magnetic suspension is also a must to fully enjoy this car for comfort on longer more casual trips on the interstate , etc.

An incredible supercar , but without the high cost of purchase and maintenance other supercars. A comfortable daily driver that turns into a fire breathing monster at the turn of the mode dial. I love it.

2021 Chevrolet Corvette Price Trends
CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2021 Chevrolet Corvette prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $84,829 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $84,829 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $91,503 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $90,811 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.59% |
Prices have softened 6.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 61 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?
Yes — it earns a 4.87/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise the powerful performance, stunning looks, and value for money. That lines up well with the Corvette’s role as a mid-engine sports car that still aims to deliver strong value, especially if you want something that feels special without stepping into supercar pricing.
The model also appeals if you want a car that feels dramatic and engaging in everyday use, with the convertible adding extra open-air appeal. The market currently shows 52.5% of listings as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for shoppers.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette reliable?
Owners rate it 4.87/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary points to a car that feels dependable in the sense that buyers keep coming back to its powerful performance, stunning looks, and value for money. That kind of repeat praise usually matters more than a single feature when you’re judging whether a used sports car is one you can count on and enjoy over time.
The expert notes also reinforce that the Corvette is engineered to be used regularly, with a drivetrain and chassis setup that feels robust rather than fragile. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic appeal and more about whether the car was maintained carefully and driven with the kind of attention a high-performance sports car demands.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Corvette?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base 1LT gives you the core Corvette experience, but the 2LT and 3LT add meaningful convenience and visibility features. The 2LT and 3LT are especially important if you want the front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, since those are not included on the lower trim.
- Powertrain: You get a 6.2-litre V8 with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Z51 Performance Package adds performance exhaust, Magnetic Ride Control adaptive dampers, performance brakes, a performance rear-axle ratio, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, heavy-duty cooling, and high-performance run-flat tyres.
- Safety package: Teen Driver is standard, and Chevrolet Connected Services can add automatic collision notification and emergency calling with a subscription. The visibility-enhancement features — front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert — are restricted to the 2LT and 3LT trims.
- Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen, a configurable 12-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and available navigation. The system also supports two smartphones over Bluetooth, and Chevrolet Connected Services can add a WiFi hotspot.
- Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the source material.
Which 2021 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.
Here's the short version:
- 1LT: This is the entry point if you want the Corvette experience at the lowest starting price. It gives you the core performance and design, but you give up the extra visibility and convenience features that make the higher trims easier to live with.
- 2LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the head-up display and unlocks the visibility-enhancement features that matter in a car with limited rearward visibility. If you want the sweet spot between price and usability, this is the one to target.
- 3LT: Choose this if you want the most premium cabin experience and are willing to pay more for it. It sits at the top of the range and is the trim to consider if interior finish matters most to you.
For safety-package reasons, the front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are limited to the 2LT and 3LT trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Corvette?
It looks like a buyer’s market for this model year, especially if you’re comparing listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 52.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 61 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $84,829 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?
The current average of $84,829 CAD sits slightly below last year's $90,811 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can expect. If you buy near the current average, you’re starting from a more realistic market position than someone who bought when prices were higher.
For resale, the Corvette’s strong desirability and owner enthusiasm should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with the right trim and equipment. A car that combines standout performance with strong value tends to stay on shoppers’ shortlists longer than a more ordinary sports car.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.87/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette safe?
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes Teen Driver technology, a rearview camera mirror, a high-definition reversing camera, rear parking sensors, and Chevrolet Connected Services with automatic collision notification and emergency calling. Chevrolet also offers a front-facing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, but those features are limited to the 2LT and 3LT trims.
The main caveat is that the Corvette does not offer several modern advanced driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, or Super Cruise.
Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 52.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.87/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2021 stands out for its open-air Corvette experience and strong value relative to exotic alternatives.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $92,867 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $84,829 CAD average.
- It adds only minor changes, including new exterior colours and a limited-edition IMSA GTLM Championship Edition.
The bottom line: If you want the better value proposition, the 2021 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and owner satisfaction is excellent. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year with only modest updates, the 2022 is the alternative to compare.
