Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.

What is the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $21,539 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,943 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more attractive entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying closer to the lower end of the range can help protect your position. Strong demand from satisfied owners can still support resale strength over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,653 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,539 CAD average.
• The 2021 adds more style, comfort, and fun-to-drive character while keeping practical hatchback appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if your priority is value and you want to take advantage of softer pricing. If you're willing to pay more for a newer model with a more engaging personality and added comfort, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
