Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 89 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,452 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $21,547 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,319 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you're buying now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. If demand remains steady, the current price range still leaves room for reasonable resale performance. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,743 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,547 CAD average.
• It adds more style, comfort, and a more fun-to-drive character.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better starting point if you want the lower average price and a decent share of deal-priced listings. If you're willing to spend more for a newer model with a bit more appeal, the 2021 is the stronger alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 is the practical pick; for shoppers who want a little extra polish, the 2021 is worth the stretch.
