That softer pricing can be a positive for you as a buyer now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if prices continue to ease. Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal among EV shoppers should help support demand over time. If you maintain the car well and keep it in desirable condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model 3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2020 is the primary year to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2020’s stronger market position and broad appeal.
