Is the 2020 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you need serious heavy-duty capability but still want a more refined cabin for everyday use. For used buyers, that means reliability can be solid, but you should pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of expensive diesel-related repairs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.87% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $56,299 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $56,351 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,862 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if prices continue to soften. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s strong capability and upscale appeal should still support demand among buyers who need a serious heavy-duty pickup. The current pricing also suggests there is still a clear market for well-kept examples, especially those with desirable equipment and clean histories.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a more upscale cabin, and pricing that has eased from last year, the 2020 is a sensible primary choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
