How much does the 2020 Nissan Rogue cost?

There are 585 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, driving experience, cargo space, and gas mileage. That lines up with the Rogue’s practical, easy-to-recognise compact-crossover role, especially if you want everyday usability over flash.

The trade-offs are clear: experts call out sluggish performance and unintuitive technology, and they also flag poor value for money. Even so, the Rogue still makes sense if you prioritise comfort and practicality in a familiar package.

There are 31.1% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to find a well-priced example.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort and gas mileage standing out as recurring strengths. The Rogue’s practical nature and everyday usability also support its reputation as a vehicle you can count on.

Its powertrain is competent rather than exciting, and used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition. That matters most if you want to reduce long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rogue is simple in concept, with S, SV, and SL Platinum trim levels, plus an optional Special Edition package on the S. The base setup is straightforward, but the higher trims add more equipment and a more polished feel.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT and a choice of FWD or AWD. It is adequate for daily use, but it is not quick, and fuel economy can be less impressive than expected in real-world driving.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included, while features such as automatic high beams, pedestrian detection, rear automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change intervention, a surround-view camera, and ProPilot Assist are available on some trims.
• Infotainment: The Rogue uses a 7-inch touchscreen, and standard equipment includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a hands-free text messaging assistant. Higher trims can add navigation, a Bose premium audio system, and NissanConnect Services, but the interface itself can feel dated and slow to respond.
• Fuel efficiency: In Canadian testing, the AWD version is rated at an average of 8.7 L/100 km combined, while a tested FWD version was expected to return 8.2 L/100 km combined but managed 9.4 L/100 km in mixed driving.

Which 2020 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SL Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Rogue, and it makes sense if you want the core comfort and practicality without paying for extras. It is the trim to consider if value matters most and you are comfortable with the basics.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the middle and should give you the most balanced mix of equipment and price. If you want a used Rogue that feels better equipped without stretching to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• SL Platinum: This is the most upscale version, with the most premium presentation and the strongest feature set in the range. It suits you best if you want the most polished Rogue and are willing to pay for it.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, while some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims or options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 585 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.82% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,467 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $17,467 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,749 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Rogue is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can work against future sellers if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. If you plan to resell later, the key is to buy well now so you have less depreciation to absorb.

The Rogue’s broad appeal, practical layout, and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand over time. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue safe?

The Rogue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star protection for the driver in a frontal-impact collision. It also misses out on a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS because of headlight performance and front-passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also standard, while additional driver-assistance features are available on higher trims or as options.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a familiar, practical compact-crossover layout with a stylish design and useful everyday comfort.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,162 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $17,467 CAD average.
• It was redesigned from the top down, bringing a new engine and a fresh platform.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and are comfortable with the 2020 Rogue’s dated feel, it remains a sensible used buy. If you can stretch your budget and want a more modern all-around package, the 2021 is the better long-term path.
