How much does the 2023 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 14.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,662 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, safety features, fuel economy, comfortable ride, and modern technology. That lines up well with the Rogue’s role as a compact SUV for you if you want comfort, efficiency, and a more distinctive look. The main trade-offs are the uncomfortable back seats and the poor voice recognition system, and the value proposition can feel less compelling than some rivals. Even so, the market still shows 28.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle you can count on for a spacious cabin, strong safety equipment, and good fuel economy. The powertrain is described as responsive in urban and suburban driving, and the CVT generally stays out of the way. Nissan also says the Rogue’s VC-Turbo setup is meant to balance performance and fuel economy, which supports everyday dependability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some drivers have reported the drivetrain can be loud and lacking power, so a thorough test drive matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Rogue?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The base S FWD is the least expensive, but it is also the trim where AWD is not standard in Canada, so you should check whether the features you want are missing before you buy.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. It is tuned for strong everyday response and good fuel economy, but highway passing power can feel limited, and some drivers notice vibration and an unusual engine note.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Higher trims can add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, plus surround-view camera, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and a driver monitoring system.
• Infotainment: You get an older Nissan infotainment system with an 8-inch or available 9-inch touchscreen. The larger screen can include wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, NissanConnect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, a wireless charging pad, a Bose premium audio system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should have returned 7.7 L/100 km in combined driving, and the evaluation loop averaged 8.1 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Rogue’s core design, safety, and efficiency without paying for extras. It is the trim to compare first if you are shopping on a tighter budget.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying below the upper trims. It is also the trim that gets the Midnight Edition package, which gives you a darker exterior look if style matters to you.
• SL: This is the step-up choice if you want a more upscale feel and more available technology and convenience features without going all the way to the top.
• Platinum: This is the most premium version, with the richest cabin presentation and the longest list of upscale upgrades. It suits you best if you want the most refined Rogue experience.

Higher trim levels can also add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, along with other advanced safety and convenience features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,662 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.67% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,348 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $26,348 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,877 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Rogue is currently in a softer resale position than it was a year ago. If you are a future seller, that means you may face more price pressure unless the market tightens or your vehicle is especially well equipped and well maintained. The current inventory level also gives buyers more choice, which can make it harder to command top dollar quickly.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2023 Nissan Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2022 calendar year, and it earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA. However, it gets four stars each for the driver and front passenger in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. You can also get a surround-view camera, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and a driver monitoring system. Higher trims add ProPilot Assist with Navi-link, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assistance.

The main caveat is that updated IIHS testing produced Marginal and Acceptable results in the small overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests, respectively.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new Midnight Edition package on the SV trim and keeps the Rogue visually fresh.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,472 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,348 CAD average.
• It brings a broad trim spread and a newly added turbocharged engine.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,304 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $26,348 CAD average.
• It adds Google built-in apps and a more modern tech experience.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, freshness, and availability, the 2023 is the sensible middle ground. If your priority is lower purchase cost, the 2022 is the better value path; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is the upgrade to watch.
