Used 2020 Nissan Rogue for Sale near Nova Scotia

How much does the 2020 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 14.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 577 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, driving experience, cargo space, and fuel economy, which makes it appealing if you want an easygoing compact crossover SUV for everyday use. The overview also points to its practical family-friendly appeal, while the user feedback highlights the features and usability that matter most in routine driving.

The trade-offs are clear: experts call out poor value for money, sluggish performance, and unintuitive technology. That means you may like it most if you prioritise comfort and practicality over pace or a more modern-feeling interface.

With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort, cargo space, and fuel economy standing out as reasons people feel good about keeping the vehicle. The expert assessment reinforces that the Rogue’s powertrain is adequate for many daily tasks, and its ride-and-handling tuning helps it feel composed in normal use.

The cost-effectiveness commentary suggests average warranty protection, so long-term ownership risk is more about buying the right example than expecting standout coverage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rogue is offered in S, SV, and SL Platinum trim levels, and the base S is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment. The higher trims add more premium touches, while the SL Platinum test vehicle shows how much nicer the cabin can feel with the right specification.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT, and the setup is described as merely adequate. It can feel slow when you need to merge, pass, or climb, so make sure the performance suits your driving.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Additional features such as ProPilot Assist, rear automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change intervention, and a surround-view camera are available on some trims or as options.
• Infotainment: The Rogue uses a 7-inch touchscreen, and standard equipment includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a hands-free text messaging assistant. Wireless smartphone integration and over-the-air updates are not mentioned.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle returned no better than 9.4 L/100 km in mixed testing, and Canadian-rated all-wheel-drive versions are listed at 8.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SL Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Rogue’s core comfort and practicality at the lowest price, but it is also the trim most likely to feel sparse compared with the others.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it should give you a better balance of equipment and price than the base model.
• SL Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Rogue experience, including the richer appearance and equipment level reflected in the test vehicle.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, so even the lower trims get a useful baseline of driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 577 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,437 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $17,451 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,437 CAD.

That drop suggests the Rogue has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you are entering the market after a meaningful correction, which can help you avoid paying peak pricing.

For resale, the Rogue’s appeal will depend on how well it continues to match shopper priorities like comfort, practicality, and fuel economy. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a three-star driver rating in frontal-impact testing, and it does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it brings forward-collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included, while features such as automatic high beams, pedestrian detection, rear automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change intervention, a surround-view camera, and ProPilot Assist are available on some versions.

The main caveat is that the Rogue’s crash-test performance is held back by its frontal-impact result, which is an important consideration if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the 2020 model’s dated-but-still-attractive design and standard Safety Shield 360.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,997 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $17,451 CAD average.
• Redesigned from the ground up with a new platform and chassis.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and are comfortable with the 2020 Rogue’s older design, it remains a sensible used buy. If you can stretch your budget and want a more modern alternative, the 2021 is the better long-term path.
