Used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale nearNorth Vancouver, BC

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 488 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.71/5, and the expert rating is 8.83/10. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable seating, great features, value for the price, safety features, and spaciousness. The main trade-offs are an underpowered, noisy engine and some missing amenities on certain examples.

It fits well if you want a practical five-passenger crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, especially if you value comfort and everyday usability over excitement. With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, comfortable, and easy to live with over time. Reviewers also highlight its value and safety features, which usually matter a lot when you’re planning to keep a used SUV for the long haul.

From the expert side, the Santa Fe’s build quality is described as exceptionally good, and the controls operate with refinement. Hyundai also backs it with a five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty, plus five years of roadside assistance and three years of BlueLink connected services.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the base engine may feel strained and noisy, so a well-maintained example with the right powertrain matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate are the four trim levels. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, since AWD is optional there and some safety equipment is not standard until higher grades. The Ultimate adds the most upscale equipment and the strongest overall feature set.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-litre four-cylinder makes 185 horsepower, while the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder makes 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The turbo engine is the better choice if you want stronger passing power, especially at altitude.
• Safety package: The available safety suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred.
• Infotainment: Every Santa Fe has Bluetooth plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Preferred adds SiriusXM and Blue Link connected services, while Ultimate gets an 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The entry-level engine with FWD uses 10.8 L/100 km city, 8.0 highway, and 9.6 combined. With AWD, it rises to 11.3 city, 8.8 highway, and 10.1 combined. The turbocharged engine with AWD uses 12.0 city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.

Which 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it is the one most likely to feel stripped down compared with the others. If you’re shopping on a tight budget, it can work, but you’ll want to check carefully for the options you care about.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful connected services, more convenience features, and access to the turbo engine. It also brings important safety-related upgrades over the base trim.
• Luxury: This is the trim to target if you want the stronger safety equipment, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the Blind View Monitor camera system.
• Ultimate: This is the most fully equipped version, with the larger 8-inch display, navigation, wireless charging, and the premium audio system. It also gets the most distinctive design accents.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 488 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,347 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $20,347 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,586 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Santa Fe easier to buy now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. If prices stay soft, future sellers may need to be more competitive on asking price to move a used example quickly.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. A rear-seat reminder system is standard, and higher trims add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, and the Blind View Monitor camera system.

One important caveat is that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so you’ll need to shop higher in the range if those features matter to you.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a five-passenger crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, with useful updates like a standard rear-seat reminder system and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the right pick if you want the Santa Fe’s five-passenger layout, strong value, and updated safety and convenience features in a year where prices have eased. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can use the softer market to focus on well-equipped examples and avoid paying too much for a base-trim vehicle.
