Used 2020 Ford Ranger for Sale near New Brunswick

How much does the 2020 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 10.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 178 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.79/5 user-rated truck with an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its great value, enjoyable driving experience, comfortable ride, and sufficient power. The Ranger also earns credit for its high-quality features, which fits its role as a versatile midsize pickup for everyday use and weekend projects.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin materials feel cheap, and advanced safety features are not standard. That means it suits you best if you want capability, value, and a truck that feels easy to live with, rather than one that prioritises interior polish.

Only 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2020 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers also describe it as reliable, dependable, and trouble-free in the way it delivers value and enjoyable day-to-day use. The expert evaluation also points to a truck that does what is asked of it without falling below average in key areas, which supports confidence in long-term ownership.

Ford’s 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is presented as a straightforward, proven setup, and the truck’s standard 4WD hardware adds to its durable, work-ready character. The main used-buyer risk is that you should watch for the transmission recall history and make sure any example you consider has been properly addressed.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XL is the most basic version, with vinyl floors, manual air conditioning, cloth upholstery, and manual front-seat adjustment. The XLT adds a much more complete everyday package, while the Lariat brings leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, push-button start, and ambient cabin lighting.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard 4WD in Canada. It’s punchy at low speeds and strong for passing, while still delivering decent fuel efficiency for a pickup.
• Safety package: Ford CoPilot360 includes automatic headlights, automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It is optional on the XL and standard on other grades.
• Infotainment: The XL gets a basic audio setup with Bluetooth and a USB port, plus FordPass Connect with remote start, remote locking and unlocking, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. The XLT upgrades to SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available voice-activated navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 11.8 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Ranger is offered in 3 trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value-focused starting point, but it feels sparse with vinyl floors, manual air conditioning, and a basic infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and can live without many convenience features.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds 17-inch aluminium wheels, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, SYNC 3, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Ford CoPilot360. It gives you the most useful equipment without pushing into luxury pricing.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want the most upscale Ranger, with leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, push-button start, ambient lighting, and available premium audio. It’s the right pick if comfort and features matter more than value.

Ford CoPilot360 is optional on the XL and standard on the other trims, so safety-minded buyers should keep that in mind when comparing versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Ranger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 178 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,303 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $30,708 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,244 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Ranger has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract interest if they buy at the right price. The softer market also means you may not recover as much if you pay near the top of the range today.

Even so, the Ranger’s strong reputation for capability and value should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a midsize truck with real utility. If you buy well and keep mileage and condition in check, resale prospects should stay reasonably solid.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Ranger safe?

The Ranger earns Good scores in the IIHS driver’s side small-overlap, moderate overlap, side, and roof-strength crash tests, and it earns an overall four-star rating from NHTSA. It earns five-star ratings in most crash tests, though it netted four-star ratings in front passenger side testing and three-star ratings in rollover crash testing.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford CoPilot360 is the standard driver-assistance suite on all but the base XL, and it includes automatic headlights, automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. On the XLT, an available Technology Package adds forward parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and navigation.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard on the entry-level XL, so you need to check trim carefully if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong towing and hauling ability with a terrific optional infotainment setup.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $27,701 CAD, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $30,708 CAD average.
• It returned to North America with a simple, price-and-power focus.

The bottom line: If you want the better all-around used buy, the 2020 is the stronger choice because it balances capability, tech, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2019 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Ranger’s core appeal.
